Global IT Endpoint Engineer Manager
WHAT YOU'LL DO
With your deep subject matter expertise in Windows system architecture, performance testing methodologies, and engineering principles you will introduce performance engineering practices to the product squads that own and operate the laptop platform, including core productivity and security applications.
Your broader knowledge of end-to-end enterprise architectures and your user centricity will ensure that performance and the needs of the user are always properly accounted for.
The ideal candidate should have a demonstrable passion for making systems more efficient and reliable with self-motivation, strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail to deliver results.

Your core responsibilities will include:Conduct comprehensive performance investigation and analysis to identify issues impacting application and system performance on Windows platforms.Develop and implement strategies for performance optimization and benchmarking including code refinement, hardware upgrades, and configuration adjustments.Collaborate with product teams to integrate performance considerations into the product development and release lifecycle.Utilize performance monitoring tools and techniques to track application and system performance over time and identify areas for improvement.Conduct root cause analysis to identify performance issues and resolve them.Develop and maintain documentation on performance testing procedures, benchmarks, and optimization strategies.Keep abreast of the latest trends and technologies in Windows performance engineering and apply best practices to our processes.Communicate any deficiencies of software, policies and/or infrastructure to the appropriate team for resolution. Streamline background processes and services on Windows OS to improve system responsiveness and deliver an optimized startup and shutdown experience. Deliver a seamless and efficient browsing experience. Generate detailed reports on system performance and recommendations for improvement.
YOU'RE GOOD AT
• Memory leak and resource depletion analysis.
• OS Internal concepts, performance, event logs and registry, collector sets.
• Slow boot and logon analysis.
• Proficient in working with tool like - Procmon, ETL trace review, PerfMon
• Windows Shell configuration and management
• Application installation and management
• Event Tracing for Windows (ETW), Windows Assessment & Deployment Kit (ADK), Windows Performance Recorder (WPR) and Windows Performance Analyzer (WPA).
• Experience with data analytics using various data monitoring tools
• Proficient in PowerShell
YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in performance engineering, with a focus on Windows-based applications.
• Profound knowledge of Windows architecture, performance metrics, and troubleshooting tools.
• Experience with performance testing tools and methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to conduct performance analysis and adhere to writing protocols.
• Good experience in desktop-based application test automation.

• Product teams to help them understand what good non-functional performance requirements look like and ensure these are rigorously validated and met throughout all stages of the lifecycle - design, implementation, continual improvement, and sunsetting.
