Job summary – What to expect:

This role has the responsibility for the development and execution of joint business plans with a leading Global Optical Retailer and CooperVision local market teams within the EMEA region in the offline channel. The role will ensure market plans and execution are aligned to the shared global objectives and that appropriate local resources) are in place to deliver first class, value-added programs that ensure long term profitable sales and category growth.

Essential Functions & Accountabilities

Performance & portfolio management:

Commercial reporting and analysis to identify areas of growth opportunity across mixed markets. Responsible for ensuring robust and accurate demand forecasting and identification of risks and opportunities to joint business. Ongoing review of our products within the customer’s portfolio and proactive portfolio management.

Market joint business planning management:
 

Responsible for all day-to-day account management; management of customer and internal account enquiries for associated markets and to escalate market-challenges to the Senior Global Account Manager. Relay market needs and requirements back into internal CooperVision teams including Global Key Account Manager, Customer Marketing & Category leads etc. Review and understand resource gaps and build proposals and recommendations to ensure consistent, world-class delivery of customer and CooperVision strategic plans for review and sign off with the Senior Global Key Account Manager. Strategically advise local market teams, including Heads of Sales, Key Account Managers & Customer Business Teams on customer requirements to open new paths for revenue growth, identify gaps and opportunities in their Joint Business Plans and share local-market successes. Establish and lead regular customer/market business reviews/updates which add value to local market thinking and course correct if markets move away from central, customer plans and core strategies. Providing leadership and guidance to local market Customer Business Teams to ensure that they can deliver first class Joint Business Plans with excellence, on time and in full: mitigating and removing barriers to execution.

Category management:

In collaboration with the GKA Category and Customer Marketing functions, identify key barriers and opportunities for category growth in high-share offline OpCos. Support and lead markets, in conjunction with the GKA Category Team to formulate plans that mitigate barriers and leverage opportunities for category growth in these markets. Identifying opportunities for Test-And-Learn activities in markets and opportunities for scale across markets. Work with local and GKA team members to ensure Joint Business Plans look out further than a one-year planning cycle to ensure category growth initiatives are a core function of Joint Business Planning activities where appropriate.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to self-motivate and take initiative. Proven ability to lead, influence and manage a wide range of stakeholders, including peers and leadership. Proven ability to mentor and develop without direct reporting line management responsibility. Ability to use financial and market data to influence positive outcomes with stakeholder (internal and external) decision makers. Clear understanding of ROI, forecasting and financial evaluation tools. Ability to take data to insight to action. Exceptional communication skills: able to relay complex information clearly and compellingly. Ability to adapt quickly to changing internal and customer requirements, showing positivity and flexibility.

Work Environment

Frequent travel required, mainly in Europe and very occasionally, globally. Monthly travel to CooperVision European Headquarters in the UK expected where possible.

Required Experience

Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with key accounts. Experience leading cross-functional teams.

Beneficial Experience

Experience of global/European customer management. Experience leading international teams. Trade/customer marketing or category management experience. Optical experience. Languages beneficial.

Education

Education to degree level beneficial.
