Global Logistics Director

Reporting to the Vice President, Global Supply Chain, the Director Global Logistics is responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives to optimize logistics and warehousing operations ensuring seamless coordination and efficient movement of goods across Flowserve global supply chain. The Director, Global Logistics will lead a team of 10+ professionals who oversee 300+ shipping locations that include manufacturing sites, Quick Response Centers and distribution centers.

Managing an annual spend of ~$200MM, the Director Global Supply Chain collaborates closely with cross-functional stakeholders to drive operational excellence, minimize costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY 

Evaluate and develop end to end logistics strategy and optimize logistics and 3PL/4PL operations, aligning with Flowserve’s overall objectives and growth strategies.

Effectively drive cost containment while supporting global sales, productivity, and cost controls in a dynamic and fluid market environment. Manage a global spend of $200MM, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective solutions.

Oversee the global movement of goods, including inbound, outbound, intercompany and third-party transportation, distribution, and warehousing activities, to meet customer demands and delivery timelines.

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor and evaluate the performance of logistics and warehousing operations, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions as needed.

Drive a culture of continuous improvement within logistics functions, leveraging data analytics and best practices to identify areas for optimization and innovation. Implement initiatives to enhance productivity, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

Build and maintain strategic relationships with key carriers, third-party logistics providers (3PLs), and other external partners. Negotiate contracts, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement in service levels and cost-effectiveness.

Develop, lead and mentor a high-performing team of logistics and warehousing professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to drive employee engagement and career growth.

Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders from Supply Chain, Sourcing, Procurement, Manufacturing, Sales, and Customer Service departments/organizations to streamline processes, enhance efficiencies, and optimize transportation operations and improve on-time delivery.

Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in transportation, logistics and 3PL/4PL operations, leveraging insights to drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives to mitigate any risks or changing dynamics Drive initiatives to enhance sustainability and environmental responsibility within the logistics and transportation operations, minimizing carbon footprint and promoting eco-friendly practices.

Represent the company in negotiations, industry events, and professional networks to promote the Flowserve Brand, foster partnerships, and identify opportunities for business expansion and growth.

Evaluate and develop the logistics business management system, including tools, apps, procedures etc to ensure continued optimization and efficiency improvements across the logistics operations Collaborate closely with the trade compliance team to ensure the optimal incoterms are used across the business

Manage the annual logistics budget including operating costs, headcount etc.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field and 10+ years relevant experience

Overall supply chain experience with focus around category management.

Experience with logistics and transportation management

Experience leading a global team

Proven track record of successfully working with multi-site, matrixed organizations, and leading cross-functional teams to develop and implement supply chain strategies

Demonstrated knowledge of global transportation networks, macroeconomic environment etc

Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated knowledge of contract terms and conditions and supply chain best practices

Ability to travel globally up 30%

Preferred Experience / Skills:

Fluent in big data management and minimum intermediate level in business intelligence applications such as Tableau and PowerBI.

Relevant work experience in Supply Chain at a global level

CSCP or other Strategic Supply Chain certification
