Roles and Responsibilities
Manages a team of professionals. Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise within buying/procurement.Requires commercial awareness and demonstrated commodity management and experience with large and complex supplier accounts and procurements.Responsible for achieving the best contractual conditions, while maintaining supplier relationships for a sub-section and sub-part family of the Global Machine & Fabrications Commodity.Responsible for progressing the activities of supplier selection, proposals and quotes, quote analysis, negotiation, business approvals, supply award, and contract authoringOwns and manages compliance in sourcing and procurement activities.Responsible for supplier data set up & maintenance to enable contract management and fulfillment activities (I.e. lead time, material configuration, etc.)Accountability for partnership with transactional operation partners (i.e. the Procurement Operations Center, POC) who are performing procurement related activities on your supplier accountsAccountable for purchase agreement (PA) health to ensure contracts are not running out of quantity, time and are renegotiated in accordance with Sourcing policies and guidelinesActively maintains market awareness, collaboration with GMF Strategy Team, and an in depth understanding of key business drivers to inform supplier selectionUtilizes technical expertise, collaboration and judgement to solve problemsActs as a resource for colleagues with less experience to provide coaching and trainingLeads projects related to part procurement, or technical changes on parts requiring supplier engagement and support.Explains information to bring team members to consensus around topics within fieldConveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues with suppliers and internal stakeholders.Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years Sourcing/Buying/Procurement or relevant Supply Chain role experience) + minimum of 5 years Sourcing/Buying/Procurement or relevant Supply Chain role experienceDesired Characteristics
