Job OverviewEnsures that all emerging/ developing chemical regulations are tracked and communicated. The incumbent will be accountable for aligning Technical Centers to use best practice methods for the tracking of chemicals in products. Takes a lead role in advocacy organizations such as the NAM (US), Business Europe (EU), AMCHAM, (Brussels), JBCA (Japanese Business Communication Association (Japan)) etc. Supports the redesign, deployment, and execution of chemical management tools to the Komatsu organization. The incumbent will work in-region within the United States of America but will operate globally across all product types, coordinating efforts with impacted groups and their respective leadership. The developing processes and tools will be tracked using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Represents all of Komatsu Business and is responsible for developing Chemical Regulations processes globally. Participates in regional business associations such as Association of Equipment Manufacturers, Engine Manufacturer’s Association, and relevant governmental agencies EPA, HSE, OSHA, MSHA etc. Navigate issues to best represent Komatsu’s interests. Leads efforts with industry counterparts (competitors) to develop safe and achievable standards within trade organizations. Develop and deploy systems and tools for critical Chemical Management aspects. Cultivate constructive relationships with governmental agencies to correct issues quickly and to learn of impending changes in legislation. Develops and executes training for all applicable chemical management themes. Lobby governments and Trade Organization to support Komatsu business position. Understand the principles of the Komatsu Way and apply to daily activity. Qualifications/RequirementsBachelor of Science in Engineering degree plus at least 15 years’ experience in Chemical Management. Master of Science desired. Excellent communicator (verbal and written). Strong advocate for Komatsu position. Strong Analytical background experienced and leader of significant projects. Ability to work productively with Distributor, Customer and Komatsu Sales personnel to resolve issues and potential issues.
