The Global Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for process improvement via designing, implementing, and reviewing procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process. This position will also help to install, modify, troubleshoot, and repair machinery and equipment according to requisition-established documentation (e.g. SOPs), layout plans, blueprints, or other drawings. This position also offers a unique opportunity to learn and apply new skills within a global team in the product and project engineering disciplines, such as change control, process characterization, and project management.
This position reports to the Global Operations Engineering Manager and is part of the Global Operations Engineering team and will be located on-site in Deland, FL.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Go "hands-on" (go to Gemba) to learn new processes and build subject matter expertise through on-the-job experience and job assignments.Act as a technical expert supporting the Deland product portfolio.Execute and lead engineering solutions to improve manufacturing processes, including improving the safety of manufacturing processes, driving operational margin expansion, improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and improving product and process quality.Execute problem-solving activity associated with manufacturing issues (internal and external) to identify root cause and implement effective & sustainable corrective actions.Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Kaizen, TPM, OEE, SMED, Root Cause Analysis, Value, and successful implementation of lean manufacturing techniques Stream Mapping, 7 Ways, 5 Whys, etc.).The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, etc.)Experience working in a medium to low-volume manufacturing environment.Experience identifying and driving Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) methodologies and waste reduction initiatives.Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
Ability to travel – Potential travel up to 25% for certain projects.Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 50lb, and spend full days on the floor in a manufacturing environment.It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
