Your role
As a Senior Global IT Program Manager you are part of our Digital, Data & Information Technology Team. You will lead the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) program and be a key member of the MES Center of Excellence, focusing on Healthcare Operations.
Key responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Business Program Manager and relevant IT stakeholders to ensure the MES strategy is feasible from an IT perspective.Contribute to the annual budgeting process and manage the IT MES budget effectively.Plan, coordinate, and allocate resources for an IT team to ensure execution of the roadmap as scheduled.Oversee program activities, ensuring compliance with quality, time, and budget constraints.Serve as the primary point of contact between internal and external IT service delivery units and vendors.Ensure delivery of MES projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.Maintain full control of IT project costs, including purchase order management, vendor invoice verification, correctness of booking, cost monitoring and reporting. Align project plans and IT-related tasks with IT and business project managers, ensuring coordination of all IT-related activities within projects.Mentor and collaborate with IT Project Managers to uphold best practices.Ensure compliance of the system and the project with Merck internal policies (e.g. IT security) and external regulatory requirements (e.g., 21 CFR Part 11).Provide regular project status reports to the IT and Healthcare Operations organizations.Collaborate closely with the IT applications manufacturing team to ensure a smooth transition into operations post-project.Drive MES IT platform simplification, standardization, and knowledge sharing.Ensure the IT system fulfills business requirement, considering the global MES core approach.Manage vendor negotiations and participate in RFP processes to select optimal solutions.Ensure IT support for the evaluation and development of new Technology Solutions.
Who you are:
You have an academic Degree in computer or natural science, engineering, or business administration.You have over 10 years of project management experience with a proven track record of successfully leading IT projects in complex, global matrix organizations.You are thoroughly familiar with current manufacturing models and concepts in Healthcare or Life Science.You have a proven track record in Pharmaceutical GxP project implementation and validation. You have outstanding (i.e. C-Level) presentation and communication skills.You possess strong capabilities to develop concepts and drive their implementation in a pragmatic manner.You have a solid foundation in a project management methodology, preferably PMP certification.Knowledge of Körber PAS-X software is a plus. You have profound experience in working in cross-functional, multi-cultural teams as well as proven ability to lead international teams.You have the ability to work with minimal supervision and excellent self-management skills (e.g. prioritization of tasks).You have excellent command of written and spoken English. Good level of French is a plus. Occasional travel may be required.
