Lead all aspects of the global procurement and implementation for multiple modes of transportation, ensuring sourcing, savings and service targets are met with the most efficient use of resources. Develop and implement pivotal initiatives, collaborating with critical team members and cross functional groups to improve cost, performance, and reliability.
Additionally, act as the subject matter authority for all topics related to your assigned modes of transportation within the Enterprise Supply Chain and for all Emerson Business Leadership. Provide guidance and direction to Regional Logistics Mode Managers for a consistent procurement strategy and global execution.
IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:
Manage inflation measurement and management and guidance across the enterprise. Define, present and implement global logistics strategies. Coordinate with regional Logistics Mode managers to align the strategy and timing of procurement/sourcing events with available resources. Consolidate event specific plans into a high-level global procurement/sourcing strategy and schedule. Develop and maintain a list of standard procurement/sourcing principles and procedures for Transportation and Logistics Services. Ensure understanding and adherence to strategic sourcing, negotiation and implementation for all global modes of transportation and logistics leaders. Advance strong professional relationships with key strategic partners and service providers to ensure alignment between our organization and theirs. Develop, implement, and communicate the procurement/sourcing strategy for your respective modes of transportation, ensuring alignment across the organization – implementing cost containment objectives. Work closely with business unit Logistics and Supply Chain Leaders across the corporation to find opportunities and implement long-term solutions to improve supply chain performance. Lead and coordinate partners to negotiate contractual agreements with key providers. Enhance and improve policies and procedures to efficiently manage the administration of the contracting, sourcing and reporting process. Develop performance metrics based on business unit feedback to evaluate operational and cost efficiency for your mode of transportation. Ensure the highest levels of carrier performance. Train and empower business unit logistics leaders to resolve issues locally but act as a point of escalation as needed. Responsible for completing data analysis needed to drive continuous process improvement and large-scale data-driven projects, while surpassing performance metrics. Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management/Logistics, Business, or related field 5+ years Logistics, Supply Chain, or Operations experience Strong analytical skills Excellent project management skills 5 years’ experience in negotiation, sourcing, or systems implementation Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) Excellent communication and presentation skills Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the futurePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:
