The Position

At Roche, we're driven by our Pharma Ambition to deliver 20 transformative medicines by 2029, addressing diseases with the highest societal burden, and our Pharma Product Development Global Clinical Operations (PDG) team is directly responsible for realizing this goal. Join us as a Global Operations Asset Leader where you will lead the clinical operations strategy and execution for a critical asset, ensuring operational excellence across multiple global studies. This unique people leadership role offers the opportunity to influence strategic decision-making across the enterprise while inspiring and developing a high-performing team of clinical operations professionals.

The Opportunity

The Global Operations Asset Leader (GOAL) holds significant accountability for transforming clinical development strategy into reality by focusing on:

Setting Strategic Direction: Architecting and translating the overall operational strategy and business needs for an asset's portfolio of clinical studies in areas like Oncology, Neurology, or Immunology.

Driving Portfolio Delivery: Ensuring the asset's clinical studies are delivered in line with budget, timelines, and quality expectations across the globe.

Leading with an Enterprise Mindset: Collaborating with senior stakeholders across PDG, Pharma Research and Development (pRED), and Genentech Research and Development (gRED) to optimize end-to-end asset strategy and portfolio delivery.

Championing Innovation: Partnering with key internal groups to accelerate speed, enhance efficiency, and quality in clinical operations, including driving a patient- and investigator/site-centric approach.

People Leadership: Managing a team, including other people leaders, by fostering an inclusive culture, providing coaching, and ensuring continuous talent development and high performance.

Serving as the operational asset decision-maker, making informed trade-offs to optimize overall portfolio delivery.

Who you are

You are an experienced and visionary leader with a commitment to transforming drug development and cultivating high-performing teams.

You possess extensive pharmaceutical Clinical Operations experience with operations leadership at the program or asset level.

You have a comprehensive understanding of the global Pharma Clinical development landscape, including successful experience in the development and delivery of large endpoint-driven clinical trials.

You are an effective communicator who demonstrates success using analytics and data-driven decision-making in strategy development and execution, quickly building trust with stakeholders across a large matrixed organization.

You are a proven People Leader with experience leading a group of direct reports, who champions inclusive behaviors, recruits high-performing talent, and pro-actively seeks to lead individuals and teams to higher performance.

Fluency in verbal and written English is required.

Experience in leading in a large matrixed organization, track record of expanding access to underserved populations, and other language skills are preferred.

This role is based onsite at our Welwyn, United Kingdom office. We look forward to your application.
