In this position... 

The Global Procurement Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the development and execution of global sourcing strategies for critical parts and engineering services spend. This role focuses on executing specific tasks within a broader supply chain strategy, contributing to cost optimization, supplier relationship management, and overall supply chain efficiency.

This high-visibility role will initially focus on a special project—building global supply chain capabilities and unlocking financial value in 2025 and beyond. This project partners with a world-class third party and offers significant internal networking opportunities. The successful candidate will be a catalyst for broader supply chain transformation, acting as a role model and trendsetter. This requires resilience, strong business acumen, and a "play-to-win" attitude. Post-project, skills will be applied across multiple Ford buying teams.

You'll have... 

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or Operations Management. 3-5 years of experience in supply chain management or commodity management. Fundamental understanding of manufactured commodities and manufacturing processes.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic procurement software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

What you'll do...

Lead sourcing initiatives, including sending RFQs, conducting cost analytics, supporting negotiations, and assisting with contract execution. Manage the cost, quality, and delivery of assigned commodities within a defined program. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and provide sourcing solutions. Conduct supplier evaluations and contribute to the development of cost tools. Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery and resolve issues. Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and product improvements. Support the development of creative commercial agreements to meet Ford's requirements. Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical sourcing standards. Assist with onboarding new suppliers. Build in supply chain risk reduction actions and ensure compliance with global trade and tariff requirements Contribute to the promotion of transparency and management of the supply chain value stream.
