Global Product Manager-Mounted Tapered Roller Bearings

Product Portfolio

Lead the tapered roller bearing product business team, consisting of product management, engineering, operations and sourcing, in the development of annual and long-term strategic plans for the product business. Develop business plans and STEP justification for new products which utilize plant capabilities and core competencies as well as meet the company financial goals. Evaluate competitive products, pricing, capabilities and technologies as well as other factors affecting the present and future status of the business. Work with inventory planners to ensure inventory is available in the proper configuration, depth, breadth and location to maximize customer service fill rates while balancing networking capital requirements. Responsible for training of customers, distributors and new CAPT’s. Collaborate with MarCom to develop and implement product programs, promotions and support collateral positioning the Dodge brand as the number one supplier to the served market.

Business Management

Manage the tapered roller bearing product business segment as a business manager. Optimize the financial performance of the business through an understanding of operating statements, assets and products costs. Rapidly and profitably grow the existing mounted ball bearing product business in both new and established markets and global regions. Collaborate with Sales to establish a target list of key accounts for focused industry segments. Operate within legal guidelines as set forth in Dodge Industrial business and ethic policies. Manage price deviations within agreed to boundaries.

Global Ownership

Position the Dodge brand to compete internationally through a complete understanding of global competition, features, prices, costs and customer needs. Be the driver for global costs for the product business. Work with General Product Manager to support and facilitate rapid profitable global growth. Understand global cost and pricing issues.

People Management and Development

Supervise and mentor Product Specialists to ensure that they understand the financial and growth objectives of the business segment.

Customers and Markets

Develop and implement growth strategies for distribution and OEM’s. Understand how customers make money and how Dodge branded products can assist customers in attaining their financial goals. Utilize VOC process to understand customer and market needs and guide product development to fil those needs Be prepared to represent all Dodge brand products when visiting customers.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook Effective communication skills (interpersonal, written, verbal and platform/presentation)

 

 

Education and Experience:

Undergraduate degree in Business Related Fields or Engineering 5+ years of relevant experience in the Industrial Power Transmission Field and customer interaction

Physical Requirements:

Work is onsite and requires regular attendance Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to travel to customer sites and channel partners as needed (Travel may be overnight)
