Global Product Manager - Reclaim Feeders & Sizers

Key Job Responsibilities

•             Manages global reclaim feeder & sizer crushing product line including revenue and profitability growth through the development of OE product, parts and marketing strategies in alignment with business objectives and overall global  Komatsu product strategies

•             Utilize Voice of Customer / Voice of Sales /Voice of Dealer while analyzing customer intelligence, trends and requirements to develop and implement encompassing global product strategy

•             Collaborate with director of product strategy as well as engineering, marketing, manufacturing, sourcing, financing, and sales to prioritize product development funnel (based on financial and strategic importance) regarding product releases, quality, cost downs and product improvements. 

•             Responsible for development and execution of product roadmap to drive global go to market strategies (Market Introduction Process) in alignment with crushing product family business unit objectives.

•             Business leader for sizer and reclaim feeder products through collaboration with all cross-functional organizations to achieve specific product outcomes.

          o             Accountable for product price, cost, profitability, market share, competitive analysis, product quality and inventory.

          o             Set and manage clear customer-facing product offerings or options that the organization can commercially promise and deliver.

          o             Set list price for product, features, aftermarket parts, and services.

Key Job Responsibilities

•             Responsible for implementing strategies to drive new product development, and management of technical features and options.

          o             Creates product roadmaps, new product development plans, and implement “next model” developments, blending market and business requirements to drive short- & medium-term business performance and long-term                                 customer satisfaction in alignment with Komatsu global product strategies

          o             Develop the ability to manage product life cycle strategies to drive the sunrise and sunset of product offerings, features and options in alignment with product roadmaps, proven designs, cost controls and inventory.

          o             Drive accountability for development of cross-product platforms, maintenance of product configuration options, and consistent use of Komatsu Mining’s business systems and databases.

•             Manage profitability targets by aligning with supply chain and manufacturing to support best SLQDC (Safety, Law, Quality, Delivery, Cost) sourcing and assembly locations to support customer demand.

 

Key Job Responsibilities Develop and maintain an understanding of the market dynamics of the product. Use this knowledge to guide requirements, promotional strategies and selling tools for the product.o             Manage or perform market research involving meetings with customers, sales personnel and other stakeholders to define market needs.  Drive the use of sustainable processes for the compilation of information from these                           external and internal sources globally.           Be the central focus for market issues and opportunities for the product and use this knowledge for the development of clear product requirements and issue resolutions.           Maintain the positive brand image of the product through consistent maintenance of model families, labeling, and prompt problem resolutions globally.           Drive development and maintenance of tools and systems to aid in the consistent selling of Komatsu Mining’s product offerings globally. Collaborating with all stakeholders along the value stream to support existing machines and introduce new products to the global market. Educate and train field sales force, perform product presentations at customer sites. Predominant Tasks Develop specific marketing plans utilizing the 4P’s of Marketing to grow mobile surface crushing and part sales to achieve annual sales and gross margin targets. Oversees global product line revenue and profitability and develops/oversees product roadmap and strategies to align with short (1 year), medium (2-3 years) and long term (5 year) targets Assist and provide guidance to the mobile surface crushing product line representatives in all the regions to achieve department goals and appropriate product sales and margin levels. Visit the various worldwide Regions and customer locations to assist General Managers and Sales Managers with product objectives and to provide product information and presentations. Promote the functions of the mobile surface crushing. Closely monitor the worldwide mobile surface crushing market to collect data on competitor’s strengths/weaknesses, product offerings, and understand competitive pricing issues in each region.  Develop strategic marketing plan for new product releases including utilization of marketing for publications, advertising, and brochures. Work with Engineering to develop new mobile surface crushing products and feature improvements through the Joy Development Process.  Gather product data and information for presentations, quote inquiries, product alternatives, and                application problems.  Develop pricing strategies for to properly reflecting current market conditions. Develop product and parts marketing strategy to expand offerings in key regions Qualifications/Requirements University degree (B.S./B.A.) in Engineering or Business required. Advanced Master’s degree (MBA) preferred Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mining and or crushing equipment business, desired Previous experience with track mounted crushing & screening equipment or related field Marketing experience in the equipment industry, with demonstrated understanding of 4P’s. Able to demonstrate a mechanical aptitude and presentation skills. Possess strong product management skills, able to interact with all levels of the organization, and handle a variety of projects in support of Komatsu and the customer. Requires an ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of people both internal and external to the organization, while building strong relationships. PC knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience in using leadership skills to provide employee guidance, confidence building, and team building. Additional Information
