Product Line Manager

Your role and responsibilities

Working as a Global Product Manager, you will be a key member of the marketing and sales team for ABB's Continuous Water Analysis Product Line.Reporting to the Global Product Line Manager, you will drive long-term profitable growth of ABB’s UV/VIS optical water analysis products globally within the Industrial Automation Measurement and Analytics Business Line. These products are used for process monitoring and control in markets including municipal water and wastewater, industrial wastewater, food & beverage, pulp and paper and oil and gas. You will further develop and manage the product line through all life-cycle phases, according to market needs and Product Group strategy and targets.•\tLeading global market intelligence analysis, defining market segmentation and identifying potential portfolio gaps both against the competition and new market opportunities.•\tDeveloping a business plan that drives and supports long-term profitable growth, tracking performance metrics and implementing appropriate pricing and cost measures for maximum and sustained profitability.•\tCollaborating with global Marketing and Sales teams to define marketing plans, including modern marketing communication activities, training activities and sales initiatives. •\tMeeting customers to understand their needs, collect and challenge their views on the market direction and support sales when required through sales calls, presentations, customer seminars, etc.•\tDefining customer value proposition per segment and channel, ensuring clear communication to channels and users and delivering clear positioning within the portfolio.•\tManaging the product lifecycle from phase-in to phase-out, analyzing current offerings, tracking performance metrics, and planning appropriate measures to ensure that current and future market requirements are met.•\tContributing to the portfolio development by leading customer need and value analysis, planning the roadmap, prioritization of new development projects and driving the cross-functional teams to deliver highly differentiated new products and solutions.

Qualifications for the role

A university degree (BS, MS, Ph.D.) in a technical field (engineering or quantitative science).More than 5 years of experience in Product Management or Product Development, working as Product Manager or development scientist/engineer on analytical products and systems.Leadership experience in sales, engineering and operational projects.Global mindset that enables effective collaboration across diverse teams and markets.Ability to anticipate customer needs and market trends.Specific knowledge of the water market is a plus.
