The Opportunity

We are seeking an expert Proficy Engineer to serve as our Global Proficy Technical Leader. In this critical role, you will partner with 105 plants globally, running on distributed IT infrastructure.  Your work with include new plant start up, set up and configuring, working as the SME to resolve critical situations against the clock to get the lines running again, building resiliency to ensure reduced down time, and continuously working to modernize and transform infrastructure. Every day has the potential to be different as each plant has its own unique fingerprint and needs from the Proficy platform.  We are looking for a leader who is excited by diverse challenges, to impact positive change for our manufacturing facilities globally!

Position Responsibilities

Responsible for keeping all production systems running smoothly across all globally manufacturing sites.Apply sound engineering principles, operational discipline, and mature automation to our operating environments and the P&G codebase.Specialize in systems (operating systems, storage subsystems, networking), while implementing best practices for availability, reliability, and scalability, with multifaceted interests in algorithms and distributed systems.Implement, configure, and maintain Proficy platform and components.Observe and monitor system continuously for full resiliency.Train and provide guidance on site specific intricacies and overall platform best practices.Partner with service and applications teams to ensure platform has compatible roadmap for the future.

The Ideal Candidate

Has a passion for optimizing and modernizing digital warehouse systems.Can work independently and as a team to gather requirements and translate into solutions.Is meticulous and analytical in nature, with strong problem-solving skills.Self-motivated to work with diverse business scenarios, prioritizing multiple priorities and have a business and consultancy mind-set, while technically (data) savvy.Can produce and present technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.Strong communication skills including the ability to listen, capture requirements and translate those into business solutions.

Job Qualifications

Required:

5+ years experience in Manufacturing Services Platforms based on Proficy and associated Application ComponentsTo include: Proficy Plant Applications, Proficy Historian, Proficy iFixProficy Operations Hub5+ years experience in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions5+ years of experience designing and developing integrated solutions across the Manufacturing OT and IT landscape5+ years defining technical platform requirements and defining solutions5+ years of proven experience in configuring Proficy Plant Applications and Proficy Historian solutionsDemonstrated experience leading projects to deploy and upgrade Proficy Platforms across 50+ globally distributed manufacturing sitesProficiency in installing and maintaining REST API environments with large (100+) Docker ContainersAbility to effectively collaborate with technical, administrative, and support resources to resolve incidents and provide solutions to GE for Proficy issues\defectsProficiency in both Windows and Linux based operating systemsAbility to work on a hybrid work schedule in North York, ON based office
