Scope: Victaulic’s Global Quality Assurance team is responsible for ensuring that all Victaulic products meet the high level of quality expected by our customers. As a Global Quality Engineer you will work with the design, manufacturing, sourcing, applications, and sales teams to ensure that quality standards are established and achieved for our products. You will support both the development of new products and investigations of customer complaints from the field to help the company meet this goal and improve our quality systems. The ideal candidate for this position is someone with a demonstrated history of problem solving who is able to translate their technical expertise into real world solutions. RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to: 1. Support Victaulic’s New Product Development (NPD) teams from ideation to launch. Responsible for ensuring Quality related elements of the NPD process such as Past Performance Analysis, FMEAs, and first part approvals.
2. Evaluate customer complaints to determine preliminary root cause and direct corrective actions as appropriate. Provide formal written evaluations summarizing findings for customers.
3. Work together with Manufacturing QA to identify emerging trends and initiate containment actions.
4. Support Green Belt / Black Belt type projects to drive reduction in the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
5. Create and implement updates to Victaulic specifications, procedures, and processes.
6. Support development and implementation of new technology systems supporting quality processes.
7. Initiate product / process reviews related to warranty claims / customer complaints.
8. Other initiatives and projects as directed by Global Quality Assurance leadership. QUALIFICATIONS: 9. BS in an Engineering discipline, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering are preferred.
10. 10+ years of experience (or equivalent) in a Quality Engineering role with demonstrated success in problem solving, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement, and implanting effective solutions.
11. ASQ Certified Quality Engineer is highly desirable.
12. Six Sigma Green Belt (or equivalent).
13. Knowledge of Quality Systems such as ISO:9001 is preferred.
14. Must have the ability to quickly learn and understand new concepts.
15. Familiarity with statistical techniques/SPC/Graphing. Proficiency in Minitab is preferred.
16. Knowledge of Victaulic product line desired.
17. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to deliver well organized presentations to a large audience.
18. Able to make independent decisions without supervisory assistance.
19.
