The Global Quality Engineer is responsible for engaging with the customer on quality and continuous improvement projects that align with customer QMS initiatives. Customer interface will span global manufacturing sites and will drive product qualification, development & implementation of customer solutions, and move Edwards to a Solutions and Value based customer engagement.

The role provides technical insight, coaching & direction for the regional on-site service, applications, and Quality teams in US, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan and defines the solution priorities. The Global Quality Engineer will liaise between internal global and regional quality teams, and will cascade information to account teams as strategies are defined.

What We Expect of You?

Provide Technical Coordination, Implementation & Project Management – Establish, implement, and track quality and continuous improvement projects (CIPs) & technical evaluations in coordination with regional service support teams, application teams & product companies on a global level. Develop & deliver product qualification plans through the customer R&D stakeholders that leverages existing relationships with High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) sites through insight into future manufacturing applications, existing installation base and current manufacturing challenges.Innovation:  Create new paths for customer engagement as technical authority and program implementation experience, drawing on technology program partnersEnhance Customer Experience for Global Account - Collaborate with Edwards’ OEM teams, Global Service, and Innovation Centers to develop engineered solutions that supports the customers’ business objectives to the goal of establishing Edwards as a highly valued solutions provider. Partner with senior support function in the Edwards organization to develop & execute a technical engagement that supports customer business objectives. Develop high levels of trust with understanding of customers’ technical decision-making processes at both regional and global R&D levels. Drive technically led engagement effort & transformation of the account.Customer Focused Technical Solutions & Global Coordination – Proactive in responding to customers’ current & particularly future needs, identifying technical innovation that can be made to build Edwards’ technical engagement and business growth.Partnering:  Partner with Regional Service Teams, Global Product & Application Teams to ensure clear alignment of project goals, plans and implementation paths in response to customer & organizational objectives. Collaborate with Edwards Product Companies to engineer technical solutions that can be scaled across the network of customer sites.New Product & Scale Growth – Partner with Product Companies (PCs) to engineer product solutions of successfully completed CIPs.  Collaborate with regional Applications and Technical Support teams to implement and scale proven CIPs across the HVMs. Work with Key Account Managers, Global Management and Global/Local Service teams to achieve annual sales targets with technical team infrastructure that supports scaling manufacturing growth across the global HVMs.Early Technical Engagement with Global OEMs – Establish early learning for new BKM and tool developments in order to cross link to End User product and technical roadmap.  Coordiante inputs and develop learning globally across the R&D network to enswure preparedness ahead of regional rollout.Change Management – Review internal all Internal Bulletins (IB) and manage for customer submission into the Micron Supplier Change Management (SCM) system.  Additionally, review SCM submissions in Micron Operations Central Teams (OCT) Technical Meeting and US Fab meetings as needed.  Communicate to Global regions for alignment.Regulatory Compliance –Primary contact/SME for customer complaince concerns for IPCC, Semi-Standards, IATF16949 automotive certification etc... Partner with PC’s to ensure product meets customer requirements for Semi-Standards compliance and Environmental compliance.  Serve as the SME level resource for IATF16949 supplier quality compliance.  Business Continuity and Supply Chain Diversity – Partner with PC’s to establish a sound Business Continuity Plan (BCP) for Customer as well as supply chain diversity to support uninterupted or delayed customer delivery.SQN (Supplier Quality Notification) – Serve as the direct liaison between the customer and PC on Quality issues.  Manage the Micron Supplier Quality Notification (SQN) process including Containment, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective Action (CA), CA implementation and Verification of Effectiveness (VofE) to ensure customer confidence in Edwards products.   

Education level

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in physical sciences or related field, however prior experience in gas abatement systems and related technical roles will be heavily weighted.

Relevant Previous Experience

Interaction & problem solving with geographically diverse technical & service teams supporting Tier 1 end-user manufacturers in semiconductor industry; minimum 5 years’ experience in semiconductor industry.Experience with establishing performance criteria along with subsequent analysis and monitoring in a multi-business and global environment.Project management experience and business analysis required including data mining, analysis, and reporting; emphasis on SAP / CRM data is preferred. Outstanding abatement analysis skills needed

Other Experience

 Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook; experience utilizing SAP Superior Interpersonal & Communication Skills –  Experience establishing rapport, building relationships across a global matrix organization; ability to communicate and interact effectively with a diverse group of people.  History of successful customer engagement & communication. Exemplary communication both verbal & written. Must have organizational awareness and ability to function in harmony with other functions to achieve business objectivesImpact & Influence: Accurately identifies, takes action, and gets company buy-in to support the account team goals for abatement growth & support. Ability to quickly distil complex technical issue for executive level discussion & decision.Ability to plan, manage & implement technical programs at operational levels. Adept at communicating & directing technical priorities of the account team & articulate poignant insight to the account plan.Strategic Thinking:  Contribute to account strategy with observations of emerging customer patterns & connections then focus the technical and product organizations to appropriate action that results in competitive technical advantage in the marketplace.Ability to demonstrate collaboration and leadership within regional service & applications teams around the globe to achieve results through clear communication of messages regarding current & future technical direction and requirements of the customer business within context of account strategy. Ability to articulate the elements of project goals that are consistent & visible for both customer and Edwards’ account teams around the globe.Ability to articulate program objectives & challenges, grasp the issues in a given situation & find creative solutions to draw the best solution past for Edwards & customer. Business Awareness:  Has in-depth understanding of customer, manufacturing goals and equipment marketplace as well as a deep understanding of the customer’s abatement decision process & implementation expectations.  Has a clear grasp and appreciation of value of the technical and problem-solving driven approach in enhancing the customer experience and Edwards’ credibility and standing with the customer.Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, handle heavy workloads, and prioritize own work.  Strong organization skills a must.A flexible approach, able to cope with a constantly changing environment and priorities.High level of integrity and professionalismConsistency in task completion, response time, and work efficiency
