We are looking for:  

Global Quality Laboratory Lead

The incumbent is responsible for implementing laboratory best practices across all sites within the Composites GBU ensuring full compliance to requirements and standards thereby reducing the risk of quality escapes.  This leadership position will have high visibility to the CMLT working across all 12 manufacturing sites within the GBU.  This will include technical and project management support to ensure laboratory robustness and compliance minimizing quality risks that could result in lost revenue, high consequence quality escapes or negative impact to Syensqo reputation.

 

We count on you for:

Evaluate and standardize lab organizational constructs across all sites to maximize oversight and efficiency of lab operations. Assess, standardize and improve lab practices developing a laboratory manual / procedure for operations and associated laboratory road map. Ensure compliance to specification requirements and site laboratory procedures. Ensure labs acquire and maintain required certifications (i.e. NADCAP, Airbus QTML) Develop and implement laboratory equipment plan to include socialization and maintenance of assets across the GBU. Be the subject matter expert for testing across the GBU. Ensure laboratory safety benchmark is performed in conjunction with HSE organization. Define and execute internal audit program to ensure compliance. Support qualification of new instruments establishing a plan and methodology for equipment introduction. Mentor and define training requirements for site lab personnel across the GBU (could be external training). Apply 6 Sigma measurement principles to lab operations as appropriate. Understand the business needs for Lab Ware and be the buffer for requirements and applications across the organization. Create a central repository of test methods across the organization. Be involved in laboratory capitalization efforts and investments and work laboratory obsolescence issues. Provide on-site resource partnering and occasional lead to site Mechanical Testing Specialists Oversee site variation reduction efforts to both test methods and problem products. Provide direction and influence on LIMS and other software needs in the digital workplace. Liaise with on-site workflow auditing, corrective action, and exception strategies. Develops enterprise-wide asset and capability management plans: coverage, redundancy, NPI. Interfaces or leads Analytical analysis methods and techniques as well as Mechanical/Physical. Position will handle ITAR and NIST controlled documentation along with Customer proprietary information

 

You will bring:

BS in Engineering/ BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred. 5 years minimum working knowledge as a Quality Engineer (or equivalent) within an Aerospace environment. Personnel supervisory/leadership experience preferred. Working knowledge of AS-9100Rev D/ISO-9000:2015 Aerospace Quality Management systems; familiarity with NADCAP certification process (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program). Experience with APQP methods, tools and applications desired. Working knowledge of Composite/Adhesives Unit Operations. Must be a US citizen or have Permanent Resident status.  Must be able to obtain a valid US Passport and pass a background check. Possess strong, pro-active leadership and project management skills to achieve results Good personnel engagement skills. Good oral and written communication skills – concise presentation, easy to read and understand standards and technical documents. Knowledge of Six Sigma tools – both lean and technical – including value stream mapping, 5S, process control and Measurement System Analysis or Gauge R&R. Demonstrated experience in data analysis – statistical and inductive/deductive reasoning.  Working knowledge of DMAIC problem solving including 8D and FMEA methods.  Must have led internal audits and RCCA investigations. Good computer skills including Google docs, MS Office, Statistical software, Minitab, etc.

 

Additional Nice-to- Have skills:

Experience working in a laboraatory envireonemt (production or analytical). Experience working or auditing to relevant lab standards. Understanding of composite materials testing – mechanical, chemical and physical. Working knowledge of thermoplastic and thermoset composite chemistries. Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). Working knowledge (read/write) of French, German or Spanish a plus

 

You will get:

The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $133,600 to $167,000 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.  16, or more, weeks of maternity/paternity and co-parenting leave, according to local regulations.  Training platform for all employees Free language courses (24 languages available) Free well-being sessions (physical and psychological)
