Global Quality Manager

We are currently seeking a Global Quality Manager to join our Boart Longyear team in Mississauga, Ontario. This position is designed for a driven and results-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic global environment. The Global Quality Manager will oversee and lead quality management processes across multiple regions, ensuring alignment with global standards, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and managing quality performance across the entire supply chain.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality management systems, regulatory compliance, and the implementation of robust quality control measures on a global scale. Responsibilities
 Global Quality Oversight: Lead the global quality management system (QMS) across all facilities to ensure consistency in quality standards and practices.Leadership and Team Management: Provide leadership and direction to regional quality teams, ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and global quality standards.Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and quality enhancement throughout the organization.Customer Claims Management: Oversee and manage customer claims globally, ensuring effective root cause analysis, corrective actions, and timely resolution of quality issues.ISO Compliance: Ensure compliance with ISO standards (ISO 9001:2015, 14001, OHSAS 18001) globally and lead internal and external ISO audits.Quality Documentation Management: Develop and manage global quality documentation, including process quality plans, work instructions, and quality alerts.Product Quality Assurance: Lead the implementation of quality assurance measures, including Failure Analysis, 1st Article (PPAP) approval, and testing protocols.Training & Development: Develop training materials and conduct training sessions to enhance quality knowledge and practices across global teams.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with operations, engineering, supply chain, and customer service teams to ensure product quality standards are met and exceeded.Risk Management: Identify potential quality risks in the production and supply chain processes, developing mitigation strategies as needed.Reporting & Analysis: Generate and present regular quality performance reports to senior management, including key metrics and areas for improvement.Minimum QualificationsMust be authorized to work in CanadaMust have valid Driver’s LicenseEducation: College Degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent; further qualifications in Quality Management (CQE) preferred.Experience: Proven experience in a quality management role, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity within a manufacturing or engineering environment.Global Perspective: Ability to manage quality processes across multiple locations and cultures, with experience in global teams and international supply chains.Technical Skills:Expertise in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)Advanced knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Oracle preferred)Working knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks.ISO Standards Knowledge: Extensive experience with ISO 9001:2015, 14001, OHSAS 18001, and other relevant industry certifications.Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; French is an asset.Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop a diverse global team.Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills, with the ability to drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).Unionized Environment Experience: Experience working in a unionized setting is an asset.Travel Requirements: Flexibility to travel globally as needed for audits, inspections, and customer engagements.
Preferred QualificationsCertified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar certification.Familiarity with Continuous Improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).Experience with failure analysis techniques and reporting (NCR, FMEA).Familiarity with gauging principles and manufacturing quality standards.
