Global Security Operations Intern - Summer 2025

These seasonal, paid assignments provide meaningful and productive work that builds on your experience and develops your skills further. This Summer Internship is from May/June through August 29th (start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday in person in the specified office location. This position is ideal for a student enrolled in an accredited college or university interested in continuing their education through professional experience. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: As part of the Security, Safety, & Sustainability (S3) team, the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Intern directly supports the GSOC, which provides essential service support for all safety, security, and crises impacting Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) facilities, productions, special events, travelers, and personnel on a global scale. The GSOC is a fast-paced and innovative fusion center. It plays an integral role in operational security, facility safety, crisis management, content protection, traveler safety, and overall duty of care, using various security systems and monitoring software to detect and triage critical incidents. RESPONSIBILITIES: + Coordinate maintenance and updates on operational procedures + Assist with the team's weekly training and onboarding training by curating training materials and creating presentations + Dispatch and coordinate response to incidents on company premises and/or sites of special interest (e.g., productions, events, etc.) using the appropriate communication methods and tools + Incidents may include but are not limited to fires, security incidents, trespassers, duress alarms, or medical emergencies + Monitor and operate various technical security systems, including access control, video management, alarm monitoring, CAD systems, and mass-notification tools, to detect and facilitate the response to potential security, safety, or medical incidents + Assist in developing location risk assessments, talent assessments, crime reports, and incident assessments on various incidents/subjects that may impact the safety and security of SPE personnel, business operations, travelers, productions, physical assets, and intellectual property + Curate and regularly update the global distribution list, location coordinates, and point of contact databases. These resources include but are not limited to Geographic Information System files, real-time proximity-based intelligence, travel management programs, open-source monitoring programs, and other productivity applications + Support tactical open-source monitoring efforts during special events, film premieres, production shoots, press junkets, etc., and feature film and TV production location tracking, monitoring, and alerting QUALIFICATIONS: + Ability to work effectively both individually and as a team + Excellent oral, organizational and written communication skills + Ability to communicate effectively in a high pressure and fast-paced environment + Interest and skills in problem-solving, creative thinking, and handling a variety of tasks + Adept in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (Visio and SharePoint also helpful) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: + Pursuing a degree in International Affairs, Business, Emergency Management, Political Science, Criminal Justice, or a related field + Ability to accurately type a minimum of 60 words per minute while entering data or information relayed via radio, phone, or alarm monitoring system into a CAD system + Bilingual is a plus Sony Pictures Entertainment is an equal opportunity employer.
