Our Actuaries are on the front lines, quantifying risk, pricing insurance and reserving losses for AIG’s major insurance operating companies, globally. We collaborate with Finance, Claims, Operations, Marketing and Risk Management, among other functions. As an AIG actuary, you will be challenged and encouraged to reach your greatest potential to help improve how we predict, manage and mitigate risk.
How you will create an impact
The position will work closely with Global A&H Actuarial Head to implement the best practice in the regions and perform portfolio reviews for the identified business segments. This position will provide technical pricing support for new and existing products and work with the regional teams to meet deadlines and deliver quality work products. This position will support peer reviews, development of guidance documents, and project management for rating tool development and implementation. This position will work across a broad range of stakeholders including International Chief Actuary office, Global A&H Product Head, Global A&H Underwriting team, Global A&H Finance team, and have a high level of accountability.
Your contribution at AIG
Work with Home Office and Field personnel to assist in rate development for new products and benefits and support the new global initiatives.Peer Review actuarial assumptions, rate development and P&L profitability of Field referrals as directed for new business and large cases.Develop and maintain global best practices, methodological guidance, and standard rating tools and templates.Work with Finance team to review overall business performance and develop KPIs.Work with Data Analytics team to manage the priorities and provide input on improving the analytical tools for portfolio review and actuarial analysis. Support global consolidation, review and analysis of annual budget loss ratios and quarterly business review.Develop an understanding of the various risks applicable to the A&H business and provide input as necessary to identify, measure, monitor, manage and control those risks.Provide support to regional staff as needed to fulfil priorities and meet deadlines.What we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mathematics/Actuarial Science or related field.Fellow in the Society of Actuaries with 3+ years of experience post FSA or FCAS.At least three years working for a General Insurance Company.Accident and Health experience is preferred.Proven ability to communicate and influence senior business stakeholders.Experience in managing and developing a team.Proven ability to work independently while managing to tight deadlines and shifting priorities to balancing multiple projects concurrently.Clear ability for problem solving with an inquisitive perspective to assigned tasks.Highly motivated, pragmatic and results orientatedMust have flexibility to work across time zones for our businesses around the globeReady to take your career to the next level?
