Global Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead our Data Analytics team's technical efforts as Tech Lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data analytics dashboards and reports that meet the needs of our Business Unit stakeholders. Responsibilities:

Tech Lead (Scrum Team):

Lead the Data Analytics Scrum Team, ensuring effective collaboration and communication among team members.

Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement meetings.

Ensure technical excellence and adherence to Agile principles and best practices.

Data Engineering:

Design, develop, test, and deploy data analytics dashboards and reports using various tools (e.g. Power BI).

Develop and maintain ETL pipelines, consumption from data warehouses or big data platforms as needed (Snowflake).

Ensure data quality, accuracy, integrity, and scalability in our data pipeline/reporting infrastructure.

Dashboard Development:

Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and support the implementation of custom dashboards using Power BI.

Support Data Analysts in implementing interactive and dynamic visualizations that provide insights into key performance indicators (KPIs), key leading indicator (KLI) and metrics.

​Reporting and Analytics:

Develop and maintain data views for reports.

Design and implement best practices to aggregate and communicate complex data insights effectively.

​Data Integration and Mashups:

Develop mashup reports that combine data from multiple sources to provide a comprehensive view of business performance.

Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.

Collaborate with the Global Data IC&D team to ensure seamless integration with existing analytics workflows, and drive new integration.

Technical Skills Development:

Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and technologies in data engineering and business intelligence.

Develop new skills and expertise to support evolving reporting requirements.

​Data Science Integration:

Integrate data analytics tools and techniques (e.g., classic regressions and predictive modeling) into our reporting infrastructure.

Collaborate with data scientists to develop data-driven solutions that inform business decisions, as needed.

​Architecture and Design:

Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our data architecture and design patterns.

Ensure technical and governance alignment with business objectives and priorities.

​Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing:

Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on best practices, tools, and technologies.

Share knowledge and expertise within the organization through presentations, training sessions, and internal events.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

Experience:

5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on analytics and reporting.

3+ years of experience as a Tech Lead or similar leadership role.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum) and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira).

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python or R.

Experience with data analytics tools like Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar visualization platforms.

Knowledge of ETL processes, data warehousing, and big data technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Kafka, Atlan…).

Soft Skills:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands.

Nice to Have:

Certifications: SnowPro or similar certification.

Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the Flavor industry, particularly in areas like process optimization, complex opportunity tracking.

Project Experience: Experience leading or contributing to data analytics projects that involved complex data processing, visualization, and reporting.
