Global Solutions Director - Connected Highways

Role Purpose: 

Lead long-term, sustainable, profitable growth for the Connected Highways global solution within the Mobility Global Business Area (GBA). You will Lead, support, and drive, together with the Global Growth and in-country sales teams on client facing activities in the ground transportation space around client interactions, solutioneering, and pursuits: from planning to design, implementation and operations. Be on the forefront of the technologies and solutions that drive efficiency, modernization, sustainability, and performance to enable our client´s success on their capital programs or asset optimization plans. Ensure Global thought leadership through constructive and well-planned interactions with clients, industry experts and communities alike.
 

Role description:

The Connected Highways Solution Director will work closely with other Solution Directors, the Mobility Sales Directors in-countries (and their respective teams of Account Leaders and Sector Leaders), as well as key practitioners in the space and the Mobility Growth Team to:

Raise awareness surrounding Arcadis’ key offerings and core capabilities within Connected Highways Build confidence in our delivery across the globe, including development of best practices within the field. Unite practitioners within the space through the development of Communities of Practice (CoPs) and ensuring global collaboration and connectivity. Lead and/or support the development of digital tools and products to differentiate in the space, act as product owner for solution specific products.

Work closely with the Intelligent Mobility Systems (IMS) leadership team to i) drive the scaling and cross selling of digital and/or ecosystem-based solutions and ii) scale the IMS business across other countries 

Develop and implement Solution Strategy

Drive growth with Key Clients and Emerging clients to generate profitable revenue through sustainable solutions as set out in the GBA Mobility Strategy. Lead the identification and development of new clients to drive the growth of the Connected Highways Solution across all of Mobility Lead development of Connected Highways Solution strategy through annual and multi-year plans to accelerate growth. Translate the Connected Highway Solution strategy into concrete objectives, actions, and outcomes. Lead development and go-to market for digital tools and products to support the Connected Highways solution globally. Lead analysis of the Solution to build and maintain Arcadis’ understanding and insight.

Client Development

Execute established growth strategy by supporting strategic pursuits for Solution. Market facing leader aligned to Growth priority, scaling sustainable solutions that solve a common problem statement to market. Bring differentiated and sustainable value propositions across the services and digital products Arcadis provides to clients across geographies. Collaborates with Global Market Sector and City Executives team to develop and implement pursuit/positioning strategy. Proactive engagement internally and promote high visibility externally for the Solution. Manage the pipeline for the Connected Highway solution and personally lead key pursuits. Coach team members to deliver differentiating and winning pursuits

Technical Excellence

Identify and drive innovation and development of differentiated FWP solutions and value propositions. Identify opportunities to standardize and digitize solutions; coordinate with Arcadis Tech & investment committees and the like, advance standardization and digitization of key elements within the business (e.g., design & engineering) etc., and engage our people and partners to innovate new solutions to meet client needs.

People

Select, develop, and manage Global Solutions team, including Sector Solutions Leaders. Coach and mentor team to achieve high performance, growth, and personal development. Collaborates with Global Market Sectors and Mobility Growth teams in-country (MGT) and in IMS to identify resources and capabilities needed to implement growth.

Thought Leadership

Coordinate thought leadership activities across the Solutions through multiple channels to bring value to Arcadis and our clients (industry forums, white papers, blogs, conferences, webinar and events).

Key shared accountabilities:

Work with the (G)BA Sales Directors and Global Market Sectors to determine growth strategies. Work with commercial excellence officer to develop and implement new business models and apply new commercial skills.  Leverage Global Service to ensure use of SOPs, automated and digital solutions.

Work with marketing to develop and implement marketing strategies (campaigns, events) for the solution.

Works with technical experts and CoP leaders to drive technical skillset. Deliver the committed NOI, margin, diversification a and digital transformations & sales plans according the annual business plans approved by the Mobility Management Team (MMT)

Growing our Connected Highways solution business through diversification in the sector, winning strategic pursuits. Definition and execution of Connected Highways solution strategy, developing solution insights and driving thought leadership within our chosen markets. Leading go-to-market differentiated solutions and value propositions, including all digital products

Annual key client planning process, including NOI, growth in Solutions share of NR, margins, etc Performance and diversification of GBA embedded accounts Capability development / acquisition 

Vetoes: 

on Ecosystem partnership  on business model approach 

Qualifications & Experience:
 

A Bachelor’s degree in [Engineering, Business]. A Master's degree, professional certification and/or continuing education in a relevant business and / or change management discipline is highly preferred. Proven track record of developing and implementing Highways´ related project for clients in the sector and ideally experiences with projects / highway industry in different countries. Past experience in a Transit / Govt Agency is desirable. The candidate should demonstrate significant leadership capability and the ability to inspire multi-disciplinary teams around a common purpose and have an understand of working on an international stage.

Demonstrated experience as senior leader with significant presence and experience in the Connected Highways´ sector and clients Ambitious mindset and a drive to grow the business and meet targets The ability to inspire and enthuse Technical and Pursuit Teams to bring their best.  Technical excellence, with a ‘can do’ attitude, strong communication skills, strategic mindset and focus with excellent commercial acumen and decisive decision making
