We are looking for a highly motivated tax professional to join our Global Income Tax Accounting Team, based out of Troy, MI. We are a diverse and global team overseeing Aptiv’s effective tax rate, tax balance sheet, and controls under U.S. GAAP. Our team is primarily based out of three locations, Troy, MI, Schaffhausen Switzerland, and Dublin, Ireland with global responsibility over 200+ legal entities within Aptiv’s structure.
Primary responsibilities include preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual Global and U.S. tax provision calculations under US GAAP. Assist in the preparation of the effective tax rate calculation including updating annual tax forecasts. Assist in quarterly assessment of tax accounting positions and tax calculations around valuation allowances, unremitted earnings, uncertain tax positions, OCI, stock based compensation, and intercompany profit. You will also manage Aptiv’s tax accounting controls and internal and external audits of controls. Additionally, you will serve as the tax technology resource including the administration of OneSource Tax Provision software.

Your role
Assisting with global tax accounting consolidation including overall company effective tax rate and tax balance analysis as well as assisting with drafting the tax footnotes
Prepare quarterly global uncertain tax position rollforward, valuation allowance analysis, accruals for unremitted earnings, OCI, intercompany profit, and deferred taxes on equity compensation
Review of foreign entity tax provision submissions and serve as a resource for local market tax provision questions
Ensure and document that quarterly and annual tax accounting and tax compliance procedures comply with required SOX control objectives
Assisting with the return-to-provision reconciliation analysis in coordination with local market tax teams
Administration of tax technology tools including OneSource Tax Provision and tax research tools
Assisting with U.S. federal and state tax compliance including planning, coordinating, gathering and preparing necessary supporting schedules and data on a as needed basis
Special projects as assigned
Your Background
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
CPA
6+ years tax/accounting experience within the tax function of a multinational publicly-traded corporation and/or public accounting firm, with US GAAP tax accounting exposure
Master’s degree in tax or other advanced degree
Knowledge of accounting and consolidations systems (SAP, HFM) and tax reporting software (OneSource)
Good working knowledge of tax accounting concepts (ASC 740, IAS 12)
Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to interact well with people of various backgrounds and levels
Strong time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines for US GAAP reporting needs
Strong organizational skill to ensure ability to prioritize workload and manage a number of projects at any one time
