Job Title: Global Tax Compliance, Strategic Partners (“SP”) – Tax Associate

Job Description & Responsibilities:

The Tax Associate will be responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of the domestic and international tax compliance and reporting requirements of Blackstone’s Strategic Partners Funds. 

This role will be expected to collaborate across functions and geographic lines to achieve operational goals, strategic initiatives, and business growth strategies for SP and Tax. This individual will report to the Head of Fund Tax Structuring, Reporting and Compliance based in New York. This individual will help implement best practices for compliance and reporting as well as:

Manage the tax compliance process and supervise service providers to deliver accurate and timely tax reporting.Review tax compliance filings for private equity and real estate funds including partnership returns (Form 1065), supporting Federal informational and international forms (8886, 8865, 8621, 5471), investor K-1s, and other relevant tax forms.Review investor allocations of partnership income.Coordinate with offshore team members, supervising their activities, and providing instructions to promote their professional development.Gather and analyze financial information for purposes of FATCA and CRS filings.Manage the collection of tax information from underlying investments and coordinate its distribution with tax providers.Respond to Limited Partners' tax inquiries or ad-hoc requests from investors and investments.Respond to tax authority requests & notices and oversee audit proceedings.Collaborate with auditors, accountants, legal team, and other professionals on tax matters related to the fund’s investments and operations.Maintain a repository of tax documents and support.Maintain detailed and accurate trackers for various tax compliance, fund activities, investments, payments, refunds, ensuring that all information is up to date and organized.

Qualifications:

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors as well as:

4+ years minimum of public accounting tax experience.CPA, with MST preferred.Must have extensive knowledge of investment fund tax accounting concepts, including partnership tax, tax allocations, tax adjustments, and tax basis.Strong understanding of U.S. federal, UBTI, ECI, FDAP, state and local tax laws, particularly those related to partnerships, investment funds, private equity, and real estate structures with considerations from Fund’s and investor’s perspective.Federal and state corporate tax experience is a plus.International tax experience and/or experience with the application of tax treaties preferred.Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with complex and voluminous data.Highly organized and self-motivated, with strong attention to detail and committed to high quality work.Effective verbal and written communicator.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic culture, with the ability to take initiative and be hands-on.Strong work ethic, responsiveness for client service and quality, reputation for excellence and achievement

Expected annual base salary range:

$105,000 - $140,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
