Our location in **Lake Forest, IL,** has an opportunity for a **Global Training Manager in our Cardiometabolic Business Unit under the Rapid and Molecular Diagnostics Division.**
**The Opportunity**
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented person to design and implement the organization’s training and development strategy. This role will be instrumental in developing and implementing strategies, programs and training resources that equip employees with the knowledge, skills and tools necessary for success in their roles and beyond. This candidate will have a significant impact on the
success of the CardioMetabolic sales organization by delivering accurate, relevant and engaging technical training. Position is based in our Abbott **Lake Forest, IL office.**
**What You’ll Work On**
**Training Strategy and Development** :
+ Responsible for supporting divisional and corporate training strategies and incorporating these into CM specific training programs.
+ Analyze needs to develop an overall training and development plan for internal and distributor sales to ensure skills and capabilities meet the organization’s requirements.
+ Design the sales employee learning journey and general values and competencies development framework; recommend modalities and activities/interactions/resources/technology to ensure an effective learning environment.
+ Take risks to create new innovative approaches to learning that drive engagement for new product launches and align with our shared traditions and brand.
+ Stay current on developments and innovations in training and education in the industry sector so the organization’s training activities remain relevant.
+ Learning Management System administration including new hire training, support product eLearning modules and global training user support. Ensure LMS records meet global compliance and audit-ready requirements.
+ Develop, Design, Implement and Maintain “train the trainer” certification programs, including initial trainer competency and ongoing refresher and certification processes.
+ Plan, schedule, and complete training projects with a sense of urgency that is aligned with division objectives.
+ Facilitate virtual and in-person training sessions as necessary.
**Collaboration and Cross-Functional Leadership** :
+ Develop and cultivate relationships with internal stakeholders including Medical Affairs, Global Marketing Product Managers, Regional Marketing and Training, Sales Leaders and Frontline Sales people to develop training programs.
+ Work cross-functionally to align key stakeholders, including legal and compliance, Area and key country sales and marketing, Global marketing, and leadership.
+ Partner with other internal departments to plan and develop necessary training assets.
**Performance Measurement** :
+ Develop testing and evaluation procedures for the effectiveness of training programs and provide recommendations for improvement.
+ Track training performance and report to required organizations, and adjust strategies based on results.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s Degree with at least 8 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
+ Proactive and able to drive project work with a sense of ownership.
+ Proven ability to build relationships and navigate complex, external organizations to identify internal champions and influence decision-makers.
+ Highly organized with strong time management skills; able to set and manage expectations and competing priorities.
+ Ability to switch contexts and ramp up quickly on new topics.
+ Clear communication, structured thinking, organization, and project management skills
+ Excellent writer and communicator with demonstrated ability to succinctly and accurately organize, summarize, clarify, and communicate ideas.
+ Experience in instructional design and training, including managing Learning Management Systems.
+ Able to achieve results while dealing with ambiguity and rapid change.
+ Experience in strategic thinking and ability to develop and implement training plans.
+ Ability to travel up to 25%
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience with scientific or laboratory products.
+ Experience in a commercial capacity within a corporate environment, leading training/instructional design functions to convey product value and head-to-head comparisons.
+ Excellent contract review and management skills
+ Experience working with creative and strategic agencies.

The base pay for this position is $95,000.00 – $190,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
