Global Transportation Analyst 2

Overview We are seeking a full-time Global Transportation Analyst 2 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sustainable transportation management processes, compiling and summarizing analysis, and leading and managing projects contributing to the areas of transportation operations and carrier management, analysis and procurement, metrics and reporting, and process and systems development necessary to support the overall global transportation strategy. Essential Functions Perform advanced costing and simulation modeling to support supply chain logistics network design and transportation portfolio procurement Analyze/report on efficiency/effectiveness of global transportation network and assess the financial/service impact of changes in routing, mode, equipment, carrier, sourcing, volume and product mix Manage Request for Proposals (RFPs), coordinate and track requests, and compare proposals and quotes from various providers for management review Identify and develop business rules to improve/streamline departmental processes and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and standardized tools to ensure adherence to operational/departmental processes Support/ensure closed-loop transportation payables processes and manage/coordinate programs with advanced shipping requirements Prepare, maintain, review, and distribute metrics and reports to detect market and global organization transportation trends and monitor and manage process adherence Recognize and communicate opportunities for cost reduction, performance improvements, and process enhancements Interpret advanced internal/external requirements for process and systems design and implementation related to transportation management and execution Collaborate with global transportation leadership and various global sites for business requirements, solution design, and validation and develop/implement new processes and systems to achieve objectives and success criteria Leverage technology and maintain automated systems to achieve department objectives Collaborate with team members, internal customers, and external partners to actively lead/support cross functional initiatives to drive improved overall business performance Analyze and educate internal/external business partners on cost, service efficiencies and regulatory requirements Provide leadership in mentoring and developing team members that emphasizes the importance of teamwork, collaboration and sharing of information, resources and best practices and review work of team members to ensure output meets intended objectives Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Analytics, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Engineering or related field AND a minimum of 1 year of work experience in transportation, logistics, analytics, finance or project management or equivalent work experience in a related field with a passion for transportation Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to work across functional and organizational lines Must be positive, detail oriented, organized, team oriented and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize and work independently on multiple tasks in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment to effectively meet deadlines Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook) Desired Qualifications MBA or Master’s Degree in a related Operations Field Project management experience Previous leadership experience Global logistics experience Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
