This job is posted as HYBRID, and requires up to 3 days a week from our Dearborn, MI office.

The Wireless Architect Manager is a leadership role responsible for the strategic planning, design, implementation, and management of the organization's wireless network infrastructure across North America. 

This role requires a deep understanding of wireless technologies, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a proven ability to manage a team of wireless architects and engineers. 

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who can provide technical guidance, mentor team members, and ensure that the wireless network meets the evolving needs of the business while maintaining optimal performance, security, and scalability.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.Experience:Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in wireless network engineering, with a focus on architecture, design, and implementation.Minimum of 5 years of experience in a team leadership or management role.Proven experience managing complex wireless network projects.Technical Skills:Expert knowledge of wireless technologies, including:802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax (Wi-Fi 6/6E) standardsWireless security protocols (e.g., WPA2/3, 802.1X)Wireless network design principles (e.g., site surveys, capacity planning)Wireless network management tools (e.g., Ekahau, AirMagnet)Wireless controllers and access points (e.g., Cisco, Aruba, Ruckus)RF spectrum managementWireless mesh networksIoT wireless technologies (e.g., Bluetooth, Zigbee, LoRaWAN)Strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies, including:TCP/IP, DNS, DHCPVLANs, routing protocolsFirewalls, VPNsExperience with cloud-based wireless management platforms (e.g., Cisco Meraki, Aruba Central).Familiarity with network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).Certifications (Preferred):Cisco Certified Wireless Professional (CCWP) or equivalent.Certified Wireless Network Expert (CWNE) or equivalent.Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.Soft Skills:Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.Excellent presentation skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Strategic Planning and Roadmap Development:Develop and maintain a comprehensive wireless strategy and roadmap aligned with the organization's business objectives and technology vision.Identify and evaluate emerging wireless technologies and trends, and recommend their adoption when appropriate.Collaborate with other IT teams (e.g., security, applications, cloud) to ensure seamless integration of wireless infrastructure with other systems.Lead the design and architecture of secure, scalable, and high-performance wireless networks.Develop and maintain wireless network standards, policies, and procedures.Ensure that wireless network designs comply with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.Oversee the selection and implementation of wireless hardware and software solutions.Team Leadership and Management:Lead, manage, and mentor a team of wireless architects and engineers.Set clear goals and objectives for the team and monitor performance against those goals.Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and identify training and development opportunities for team members.Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.Manage team schedules and workload to ensure adequate coverage and timely completion of projects.Security Management:Develop and implement wireless security policies and procedures to protect the organization's data and systems.Ensure that wireless networks comply with all relevant security standards and regulationsOversee the monitoring and analysis of wireless network security events and respond to security incidents as needed.Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments of the wireless network.Performance Optimization and Troubleshooting:Monitor and analyze wireless network performance and identify areas for improvement.Develop and implement strategies to optimize wireless network performance and capacity.Troubleshoot complex wireless network issues and provide escalation support.Develop and maintain documentation of wireless network configurations and troubleshooting procedures.Vendor Management:Manage relationships with wireless hardware and software vendors.Evaluate new technologies and solutions.Negotiate contracts and ensure that vendors meet service level agreements (SLAs).Budget Management:Assist in the development of the annual budget for wireless network infrastructure.Manage expenses within budget.Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:Ensure all wireless network operations adhere to relevant industry regulations and compliance standards.Stay updated on changes in regulations and adjust strategies accordingly.
