GM Fulfillment and Logistics

OVERVIEW This role will provide business management leadership, analysis, oversight, and discipline across our fulfillment center at both the tactical and strategic level. It will direct all aspects of a multi-shift and multi-site fulfillment operation and continually improve an integrated performance and quality improvement system that will improve effectiveness, enhance efficiency, and improve customer satisfaction and NPS. The position will manage and execute the flow of goods through quality control, pick, pack, ship and returns. Responsible for mid and long-term capacity planning. This position is also responsible for all variable and fixed expenses, negotiating with suppliers, sourcing new suppliers, turnover, quality, and material handling equipment. The position is accountable for approximately 200 employees as well as a 260k square foot facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Continually monitor, forecast, and reduce cost per transaction.Using a collaborative approach, continually evaluate, measure, and refine processes to improve service, quality, and efficiency.Improve customer satisfaction through improved service levels and quality.Improve employee satisfaction through improved working conditions, continued proactive communication and prompt reaction to open concerns/opportunities. Provide strategic leadership to develop, coach and mentor team leaders.Manage the timely resolution of problems, issues, and situations to ensure efficient and effective fulfillment and returns., including planning, acquisition of supplies, logistics, labor scheduling, etc.Manage and mentor the operational groups to proactively build, coordinate and execute a wide range of projects that drive on-time delivery to the customer and operational profitability.Work closely with Finance and Operational leadership on coordinating and overall financial and FTE staffing plans, budgets, and analysis. Provide leadership with analysis, supporting data, and insight.Forecast labor for the facility that meets expected volumes in each department.Manage relationships with vendors to ensure all ShopHQ objectives are achieved and new business policies and projects are implemented in a timely and efficient manner. Oversee sourcing of suppliers and negotiated pricing.Operational reporting and analysis across the business unit along with metrics to manage the day-to-day operations (e.g., dashboards, management reports, budget analyses).Design and develop process improvement to reduce expenses.Assist with design of system enhancement to reduce expenses and improve the customer experience.Ensure company procedures, policies, and philosophies are executed effectively and efficientlyMaintain a strong safety program in compliance with all OSHA requirements.Other duties as assigned.

TRAVEL

Approximately 5% of time for domestic travel.

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA preferred.Experience with Manhattan WMS and Microsoft Office Suite; Experience with Mantissa Sorting Systems preferred8+ years relevant fulfillment experience; previous experience in direct-to-consumer preferred.Experience with high cube, high transaction direct to consumer fulfillment operations.Must have excellent skill set in the following areas: supply chain, logistics, facility expansion, forecasting and inventory management.Solid understanding of business financial management (budgets, profit and loss, forecasting, etc.).Self-managed, self-starter able to work in rapidly changing environment.Ability to perform complex business analysis and decision-making.Program and project level planning, mobilization, and management.Demonstrated ability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments, business partners, and employees in a team-oriented environment.Excellent team leadership and project management skills.Ability to deal effectively with ambiguity, make decisions, and take action.Thinks critically about existing process and technology solutions.
