Your Role: 
 

The E/I Controls Technician is responsible for performing calibration, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of site’s control systems, instrumentation, electrical, and electromechanical equipment to ensure proper operation and performance with daily checks/repairs in compliance with company and departmental Operating Procedures (OPs). You will perform preventative and predictive maintenance of instrumentation and electrical systems, inspection of automated control systems (PLC/DCS/Delta V). You will work in a fast-paced, safety-oriented, team environment and will maintain records to comply with Good Documentation Practice requirements to include detailed documentation of work performed in both electronic and written form.  The E/I Controls Technician will routinely use the Trackwise (QMS), SAP (CMMS), Meridian (drawing repository), Delta V (DCS), Siemens (BMS), and the tools of the trade for calibration, maintenance, alarm management, troubleshooting, and repairing of process controls.

 

Reporting to a GMP Maintenance Supervisor, this role will be responsible for the maintenance and performance of Electronic Controls and Instrumentation equipment for the GMP facilities at the Cherokee CDMO site.  The E/I Controls Technician will engage in supporting operations functions and execution of maintenance and calibration tasks.

 

Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on instrumentation and automated control systems (PLC/DCS) to maintain a safe and efficient operations.Perform calibration on various types of instruments (ie. pressure, temperature, and flow) to maintain a safe and efficient operating unitPerform maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical supply and distribution systems (Profibus, 4-20ma control loops, Low Voltage Control Circuits, Motors and motor controls, VFDs, troubleshooting and repair of general electrical systems up to 480V)Assist in managing the site instrumentation and electrical technical documentation to ensure maintenance tasks, equipment, technical drawings, and process changes are documented and currentWorks closely with Engineering, Quality, and Operations groups to ensure strict compliance with GMP guidance, specifically to ensure that the equipment is maintained in GMP complianceHave a working knowledge of the tools and materials of Electrical and Instrumentation Controls and the ability to expertly perform all types of industrial installation and repair, calibration, predictive and reliability tasks, and other duties as assignedWill support contractors executing maintenance and Calibration activitiesResponsible for response to E/I emergency breakdowns and alarms throughout the GMP facilitiesMust demonstrate Good Documentation Practices and communication skills 

 

Who You Are
 

Minimum Qualifications:
 

High School Diploma or GED3+ years of electronics/instrumentation controls experience
 

OR
 

Associate’s Degree in Instrumentation Technology, Controls Engineering, or other technical discipline 1+ years of electronics/instrumentation controls experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:
 

Ability to plan and organize daily tasks autonomouslyEffective communication skills (written and oral), ability to interface across management levels and departments.Expert on instrumentation or calibration of instruments, motor controls, PLC, DCS Controls systems on multiple types of electromechanical systemsAbility to problem solve and troubleshoot systems in an industrial environment
