We are looking for a Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineering for the Attitud e and Orbit Control Subsystem (AOCS)
Key duties:
Contribute to the AOCS related design, development and verification:
Derivation of the pointing requirements from the System specificationRequirements allocation to the GNC functions, sensors and actuators.Definition of the AOCS architecture (configuration, operative mode logic).Definition and development of the GNC algorithms.Perform stability and robustness analysis of the controllerProduction of technical documentation: Design Report, Pointing Budget, Performance Analysis and Evaluation Report, contribution to other AOCS and System budgetsDevelopment of GNC simulator in Matlab, Simulink environmentSkills, experience and qualifications required:
At least 5 years of technical knowledge in the following areas:
Guidance Navigation and Control disciplineAutomatic Control Theory with focus on digital innovative controls (MPC, H¥, Robust control)Attitude and Orbit Control Subsystem architectureFlight DynamicsAOCS sensors and actuatorsMission analysis (Orbital definitions)Space environmentMatlab, LabView ,“C” and “C++”, programming languageRequired Engineering Master Degree in Aerospace or Electronics engineering, or PhysicsMandatory previous experience in Entry, Descent and Landing GNC design, development, validation and verification in engineering simulation environment and Hardware-in-the-loop facilities, applied to Moon missions.Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office packageGood attitude towards analysis, synthesis and problem solvingExcellent knowledge of English language (spoken and written)Good Knowledge of Italian is appreciatedAvailable to work in shifts if requested by the programGood attitude towards teaming and multi-disciplinary approaches.Good attitude towards negotiations with Space Agencies and SubcontractorsAvailable to support frequent travels and collocations abroad.At Thales Alenia Space we provide CAREERS and not only jobs.
