SUMMARY:
It is the primary responsibility of the Apprentice Bartender to service guests in a courteous, timely, and professional manner while ensuring his/her outlet is clean, organized, and properly stocked at all times. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures. The position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the company’s brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P.- Kindness, Engagement, Empathy, and Positivity).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain uniform appearance according to established guidelines.Know locations of all Golden Nugget outlets and services available to guests.Communicates professionally and courteously when interacting with guests and fellow co-workers.Adhere to policies and procedures and liquor laws.Is aware of and in compliance with all Health Department regulations while performing duties.Perform all opening and closing duties, based upon shift assignment.Clean all equipment, tools, and supplies and ensure equipment remains in good working order.Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the bar.Stock the bar with supplies necessary for service and ensure that all bar items and supplies on-hand are accounted for and secure throughout shift.Complete opening side duties including: check quality and amount of all bar stock and supplies through checklist; set up bottles in display cabinet and speed rail; check condition and cleanliness of shakers and other tools; check temperature of refrigeration units and glass wash machine.Prepare Quat buckets for service areas, changing Sanitizer every 4 hours and maintaining a 200ppm.Re-fill ice coolers, garnish trays, straws and napkins.Turnover/Takeover station according to established procedures.Assist bartender in drink preparation.Ensure Pool liquor and beer cages remain locked at all times and keep a constant track of bottle and beer counts.Prepare order to replenish stock at bar to pre-determined par levels.Work as a team, assist all guests’ and employees’ needs and inquiries.Greet guests in a positive, friendly manner and make them feel welcome.Anticipate the guests’ needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency.Relay all guest compliments and complaints to the Pool Manager on duty.Bid farewell to guests using guest’s name when known and encourage them to return.Follow established procedures for comps and voids.Input orders correctly into the Aloha P.O.S. system.Pick-up cash bank at the beginning of shift and return at the end of shift.Responsible for balancing cash bank at the end of shift.Handle money in accordance with Pool and Beverage Department policies and procedures.Perform all other job related duties as assigned and requested.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent.At least 1 year of experience as a Bar Porter, Apprentice Bartender, or Bartender.Previous experience working in a similar high paced resort setting.
