Description:Graduate Nurse InternDepartment: Cardiac Med/PCULocation: Trinity Health Ann ArborMinimum rate of pay: $30.91 PLUS Daily PAYPosition Purpose:

7 East provides services to older adolescent, adult, and older adult cardiac patients, acute and chronic Heart Failure patients, as well as medical surgical patients who require cardiac monitoring. Patients on the unit require close and frequent assessment and skillful and timely clinical interventions in order to achieve their treatment goals. 7 East is a 32-bed unit and the average patient age is 64.

Shifts Available: -Night Shift 8 hour shifts 11:00 PM to 7:30 AMStatus Available: Full time, Part time Every Other Weekend and Every other Holiday per year required for Full-time and Part-Time team members

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Gathers and analyzes patient informationDevelops, implements, evaluates and revises an individualized plan of careUses teach back methodology to educate patient and familyActively seeks to prevent potential hospital acquiredEffectively communicates patient status, priority goals and interventions during consultations, rounds and handoffsFollows all HIPAA policies and proceduresBehaves in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of St. Joseph Mercy Hospitals

Requirements

Graduation from accredited nursing program.Effective January 1, 2013 all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire or transfer to an RN role.Knowledge of nursing theory, practice and age specific needsInterpersonal skills necessary to initiate and maintain collegial relationships with coworkers and therapeutic relationships with patients and families.Critical thinking skills necessary to perform principal duties and responsibilities of job description.Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when planning and performing professional nursing care.

Licensure:

Requires current Michigan Nursing License
