Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an Underground Engineer I to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for design, planning and scheduling of mining activities.

Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed design of all capital and expensed development required to safely and efficiently meet the short-term mine plan, including all ore development from the underhand drift and fill production zones. This includes, but is not limited to the preparation, distribution and co-ordination of approvals for all designs, plans, drawings and other relevant materials Assist in the preparation of all designs, plans, drawings and other relevant instructions required for the excavation of production stopes Assist in the preparation of all designs, plans, drawings and other relevant instructions required for the excavation of raises for primary ventilation, ore passes, service-holes, and other purposes. Conduct routine inspections of the underground workings to perform quality control of designs and look for opportunities to improve efficiency Regular reporting and undertaking of special mining projects as required. Production reporting of mine physicals, track site KPIs and evaluate opportunities for improvement Provide focused review of site deliverables to ensure completeness, clarity and accuracy, preparation of presentations and reports as required Coordinate with mine operations to ensure plan compliance and to minimize disruptionsQualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mining Engineering or related degree or equivalent experience required Knowledge of underground mining methods and design preferred Knowledge and experience with underground design tools, specifically Deswik.Sched and .CAD Strong computer skills required Demonstrated ability to interact with both engineering and operational teams outside of direct organizational structure required Candidate must possess ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization in both written and verbal means required Demonstrated capacity to execute and hold self and others accountable for results required The candidate must be willing to rotate into new positions as development opportunities come available
