Become a crucial member of our team as a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) System Administrator, where you'll be responsible for architecting, supporting, and optimizing the costs of our GCP environment. In this role, you'll oversee the health, architecture, and operations of our multi-cloud environment, proactively plan for capacity, maintain backups, and monitor operational events to ensure seamless performance
The Google Cloud Platform (GCP) System Administrator will be expected to be at part of the ATCO Hybrid Cloud team and be the key administrator for the ATCO GCP Instance and help in other areas of ATCO’s multi-cloud environment, which includes Azure and Oracle Cloud Instance (OCI). You will be expected to work with operational support and project teams to understand technical requirements for the cloud platforms and assist with translating their requirements and assist with design and implementation as required. The GCP Administrator will provide subject matter expertise for ATCO’s multi-cloud environment and will be expected to work with the infrastructure and application support teams as required.
You will be expected to have a very strong experience and knowledge of GCP, with a working knowledge of Azure and OCI considered and asset and will be expected to build a strong understanding of ATCO’s current various IaaS and PaaS subscriptions and components. The GCP Administrator determines if current cloud solutions will meet requirements, and if not, will work with the Solution Design Group and Cloud Vendor support to recommend new cloud solutions where required. In addition, the GCP Administrator should have an awareness of the overall ATCO business enterprise and ATCO enterprise-wide IT architecture and be available to understand the issues and implications and work with Cybersecurity and Enterprise Architecture on proposed cloud technical solutions.
What You Get to Do:
Technical oversight of all IaaS and PaaS environments. Manage cloud services using cloud management tools and interfaces. Assists in investigation of ATCO cloud technical problems and develops recommendations for resolution. Have an innovative mindset, and a proven track record in identifying, proposing, prototyping, documenting, and overseeing the execution of cloud technology solutions Collaborate with team members to assist in technical decisions that affect operations or projects. Acts as an escalation point for technical questions about ATCO cloud technical requirements, involving the Design Authority as required. Review vendor provided system documentation, including cloud solution architecture and system manuals, to ensure alignment to business & technical requirements.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or an equivalent IT Certification from a recognized technical college. Demonstrated knowledge of GCP, Ansible and Terraform. 5+ years of GCP experience or equivalent experience and education Technical experience in Information Systems and Technology & cloud technologies Ability to translate functional processes and technical system requirements to support the successful integration of ATCO cloud technology solutions to meet business needs. Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills and able to use non-technical language to explain technology to non-IT stakeholders. Maintain knowledge of ATCO cloud IT solutions, service offerings and emerging technologies. Ability to work in a team environment, build collaborative relationships, and negotiate with stakeholdersWhat We Offer:
