JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the SR VP of External Affairs and the Government and Rural Affairs Coordinator, the Get Out the Native Vote (GOTNV) Intern will gain valuable experience learning about the current business environment, as well as policies that affect Doyon, Limited’s business activities. Intern will work closely with Communications Manager and other Doyon staff on a number of projects based on applicant’s interests. One of the primary focuses of this internship will involve is a large-scale project encompassing all aspects of planning and coordinating a large voter campaign initiative, which includes event planning, marketing and social media outreach, campaign communications, data analysis, and Doyon public events. Open to Doyon Shareholders ONLY. This internship will work May-August. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Plan, coordinate, and manage GOTNV events with partner staff Participate in post event evaluations Prepare GOTNV articles for monthly e-newsletter and quarterly printed newsletter Prepare GOTNV content for the corporate website, Doyon social media channels, and employee intranet Prepare GOTNV content for GOTNV Facebook profile Coordinate volunteers and booth representatives for voter registration drives Assist in designing and developing GOTNV posters, booth materials, and voter information materials for shareholders and the public Other duties as assigned DOYON LIMITED CORE COMPETENCIES: Commitment to Excellence – Identifies what needs to be done and takes action to achieve a standard of excellence beyond job expectations. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Sophomore or higher in good standing Minimum 3.0 overall GPA Must be a Doyon Shareholder Strong communications. writing, planning and organizational skills Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications SKILLS INTERN WILL OBTAIN: Intern will obtain essential skills in organizing, planning, writing, researching, and networking. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities and abilities. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is generally sedentary, requiring routine walking, standing, bending and carrying items weighing less than forty pounds.
