Governance Risk Compliance Agricultural and Cross Commodity Market Researcher

As an Agricultural & Cross Commodity Research Analyst in J.P. Morgan’s Global Research Center, you will have the opportunity to work with a global team, analyzing data from various sources, building and maintaining commodity market models, and writing research content. You will be part of a collaborative and communicative team, with the chance to learn and grow within the firm's global network. Your keen interest in agricultural, commodity, and financial markets, combined with your strong quantitative, statistical, and coding skills, will be key to your success in this role.

To support the continuing growth of the Global Research Center we are seeking to hire a Commodity Analyst. This Analyst will be aligned to J.P Morgan’s Global Commodity Research Team and will work with colleagues in the UK and USA, primarily on agricultural and cross commodity markets research, with opportunities to expand into other areas of commodities coverage. The Analyst’s main responsibilities will include:

Job responsibilities:

Gathering and analyzing data from a variety of sources, including Bloomberg, government and company reports, online databases, market consultancies, weather bureaus and J.P. Morgan proprietary content. Summarizing conclusions from data analysis for research colleagues will be critical to this role. Building, maintaining, and analyzing models of commodity markets; generating regular and one-off reports, graphs and datasets from these models. Writing research content for reports covering market developments and prospects, updating text, tables and charts in reports and presentations to be used internally and published externally. Maintaining regular contact with colleagues in the global research team, taking part in conference calls and responding to project requests (often client-generated). Establishing a collaborative, communicative, team-focused approach is critical to the success of the role.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

Keen interest in agricultural, commodity and financial markets Strong quantitative, statistical and coding skills, knowledge of Python is required Analytical aptitude and ability to learn commodity and financial market concepts Good knowledge of Excel, use of internet and standard Office suite Good communication and team skills in a multi-location set up Close attention to detail and ability to work to very high standards Capacity to work under pressure and tight deadlines A strong motivation to learn and manage projects independently

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

We are looking for experienced candidates preferably with Economics background.  Ideal candidates for this position would be Post Graduate in Economics or Dual Degree Economics / Engineers from an IIT, BITS, UDCT (Institute of Chemical Technology) or Masters level graduates from ISI
