We have an exciting opportunity at our Liverpool Supply Point for a Governance Specialist to join our team.
As part of the Governance team, you would work alongside your colleagues to develop and deliver a robust technical strategy that ensures Nutricia Liverpool delivers products of consistent, specified quality and uncompromising safety, in line with Danone Specialised Nutrition Quality Ambition. To build relationships both internally and externally that challenge and support technical excellence.
You would assist in the development and maintenance of the sites Quality Management Systems as well as adherence to all internal and third-party accreditations, requirements, and Codes of Practice. You will support in the preparation and hosting of audits on site as well implementing or supporting robust corrective actions for any non-conformances.
You would be integral in site projects such as bringing new or changed materials (ensuring the relevant food safety assessment has taken place) or the implementation of new processes. You will be responsible for ensuring materials on site meet the required standards with the ability to challenge where required.
You will be a key driver for continuous improvement, whether that is the implementation of new Danone standards or changes to regulations, you will be the key contact to communicate these changes and support cross functional teams in the gap analysis and implementation.
Key accountabilities, deliverables & KPIs, impact on business results
Assist the Governance department in maintaining a documented Quality Management System, which reflects the site’s commitment to Food Safety Legality and Quality, satisfies group standards and third-party requirements. Ensure that the system satisfies the requirements of the FDA / FSMP and country specific requirements for product registration Assist the Governance Manager, in maintaining and improving the Quality System through audits and system reviews and ensure that effective and timely corrective action is taken when necessary. Ensure that corrective action is documented, carried out and maintained on an ongoing basis.Assist the Governance Manager in the maintenance and improvement of international standards for Quality systems (ISO9001), FDA and Food Safety (FSSC 22000) as well as Danone’s own quality and food safety standardsEnsure that any issues relating to safety or legality of product are identified and communicated to the Governance Manager for escalationAssist the Governance Manager in providing reports as required by the Site Management team or other designated Managers.Champion and identify opportunities to develop business capability in relation to continuous improvement initiatives. Work on projects as required to implement lean initiatives and continuously improve our technical capability and conformance.Support Incoming materials HACCP team reviews with cross functional stakeholders across the businessSupport in the development and maintenance of the Danone HACCP assessment for incoming materials (raw materials and packaging materials) on Form 5b. Communicate any changes in materials to the Food Safety Specialist to determine if Factory HACCP or Form 2 need to be updated.Deputy in HACCP for leading meetings, documentation review and update.

Critical experience required
HACCP experience including leading of teamExperience in leading areas within external audits such as FSSC 22000, ISO accreditations and FDAFormal qualification in internal auditingTrained in Level 3 Food Hygiene & HACCP minimumEducated to degree level/equivalent or industry experiencedExperience of working in a Quality environment essentialExperience of manufacturing essential Strong Quality Management / Improvement background Capable of working on multiple priorities and setting targets and timeframesProject management skillsAdaptable enough to work in an environment that changes /challenges daily Ability to work in a pressurised, heavily targeted and measured environmentApproving raw and packaging materials with relevant risk assessments
