What You'll Do Responsible for the governance and compliance of policy/account administration processes and practices that align with contract language, documents and Terms & Conditions as well as government regulations. Serves as a liaison with Compliance and Legal to achieve efficient, timely, and cost-effective oversight and operational support to ensure compliance with state and federal laws. Conduct comprehensive assessments of operational processes and workflows to identify moderate compliance risks and deficiencies in partnership with Compliance, Legal and Risk areas. Review regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies to ensure alignment with operational practices. Develop and implement controls and action plans to mitigate moderate operational risks and ensure adherence to moderate regulations. Collaborate with Compliance, Legal and Risk areas to design and implement effective controls and procedures to address identified compliance gaps. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of compliance controls, recommending enhancements as needed. Tracking key risk indicators, conducting trend analysis, and providing insightful reports to support decision-making and risk management efforts. Monitor operational activities to ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Customize reports to meet the needs of different audiences, ensuring that information is presented clearly and effectively. Represent the business unit interests in internal and some external examinations, market conduct exams, audits and government inquires. Effectively partner with internal and external Legal Counsel, Compliance, and other internal and external auditors/examiners and vendors of service. Develop and deliver to management remediation plans as needed. Development, review, and update moderate operational policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Work with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, eliminate redundancies, and enhance efficiency. Communicate changes to policies and procedures to relevant stakeholders. May provide guidance to lower-level staff. Who You Are Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred 4+ years of experience resulting in in-depth knowledge of policy/product administration, contract language and provisions, processes and practices, customer service delivery strategies, internal/external auditing, market conduct/examination processes, and business, compliance and legal risk for group and individual medical plans Requires expert and broad legal and technical knowledge of laws & regulations, and contract provisions Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and strong presentation skills High level of creativity and advanced analytical skills Demonstrates strong technical leadership skills, sound business ethics and exceptional decision-making, issue identification and resolution Ability to work with complex, ambiguous information Experience with Principal products and systems Salary Range Information Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly) $67500 - $121200 / year Time Off Program Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
