Job Description

Purpose of the Job:

- Active participation in elaboration of conceptual, basic and detailed design of Turbine Governing System and Turbine Instrumentation of Hydro Power Project

- Allotted work to be perform in define schedules and budgeted manhours.

- Standardization and methodology aspects for mechanical & electrical engineering.

- Functional reporting to your Governing System COE leader and operationally to the System Integrator.

- EHS: Implementation EHS policy & procedures of GE for design aspect.

Technical Skills and Essential Responsibilities:

Safety (EHS) in Design.Should follow the company integrity program.Strong Contract analysis with R&O.Meet the Project Planning (as per MTS and STROMS) and should execute project/activity in allotted budget.Preparation of engineering documents independently (following design practices) –Calculation Note (Sizing and Calculation of HPU, Pressure Tanks, HP air system for Governor/MIV and dewatering system). Design Memorandum, P&ID, Functional Description Etc.Technical Purchase Specification for:Hydraulic Power Unit,Electronic Speed Governor,Piston accumulator and Air/Oil pressure tanks,HP Compressors, Air ReceiversOleo-hydraulic equipment,Instruments, Electrical boxes/ Local Control Panels etc.Organization and participation to design reviews (with principal engineer)Vendor technical offer review & summary of offers, kick of meetings, supplier follow-up and detailed design review and validation. Manufacturing clearance, factory acceptance tests and operating & maintenance manuals.Site support during erection, commissioning and warranty period.Quality in design (Document approval in first revision)Review and reply to customer/SI comments and update documents accordingly.ECO/ECR/BOM Loader activities in Corella/PLM.Co-ordinate with supplier quality team as and when required.Finish the tasks assigned by Manager/Lead engineer within time.Should have experience of working on design engineering operations involving Conceptual design, flow diagram and P&ID, layout of system and detail design, etc.Should have knowledge of preparing and review of detail working drawings.Preparing Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and Technical Specifications.Evaluation of technical submittals by Vendor and approval on the same.Should be able to work with more than one projects simultaneously.Transverse missions:Frequent business trips (site, client office, supplier workshop) as required.Active participation in standardization and cost out actions.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Should be well versed with relevant IEC/IEEE, ASME/ISO/DIN standard of hydro governing system.Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university/college (Electrical/Mechanical) a dynamic professional with nearly 8 to 10 years of good experience in Governing System engineering for Hydro Power Plant.Expertise in AutoCAD, MS OfficeExperience in 3D software (plant layout, piping network etc) is preferred. Language: Portuguese and English
