Job DescriptionThis role will support the Head of Government and International Relations – EU & AsiaPac, to engage with key external stakeholders across the region to support business continuity, investment and growth opportunities. In pursuit of this purpose, this role provides analysis of political and policy developments in Europe and supports the advocacy for agreed topics, through strategic partnerships and positive relationships with those governments, international institutions and other multilateral organisations. Close alignment with the company values and high level of integrity are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities include:
Support the strategic development of Anglo American’s engagement with governments and other relevant stakeholders in Europe, in relation to the company’s responsible mining activities and potential interests in these regions.Advise senior leaders on interdependencies of complex, multi-stranded international issues and their impact on Anglo American’s business.Represent Anglo American at external events and international multi-stakeholder meetings.Input into country risk and geopolitical analysis.Identify threats and opportunities presented by trends in the international relations space; including development of corporate policies, providing advice on engagement and management strategies in response to those trends.Identify and participate in engagements (including memberships/partnerships) with key multilateral organisations and other stakeholders to support the delivery of Anglo American’s strategy. QualificationsExperience and understanding in policy processes in governments, how regulation and legislation is formed in different jurisdictions, and how the socio-political agenda influences these processesExperience and understanding in global issues monitoring, prioritisation and management toolsExperience in International policy agenda, in particular as it affects countries of responsibilityExperience in government relations in the corporate sector or in associated public affairs function.Significant experience in the international relations space (in government and multinational organisations)Understanding of governance requirements of a major listed companyFluent in GermanAdditional InformationWho we are
