Our Digital Emerging Technology practice combines an understanding of the public sector’s diverse mission needs with private sector leading practices. We respond to each client’s issues by bringing together highly skilled professionals across our Consulting, Assurance, Tax and Strategy and Transactions service lines. This integrated approach provides the support and flexibility to meet the unique requirements of our clients.

 

You will join a talented group of professionals who are advising U.S. federal agencies with digital strategy, customer experience, process improvement, technology effectiveness, digital architecture, program integration, audit readiness and financial management, to name only a few. As a member of our GPS Digital team, you will help our clients envision, design and implement a range of high-impact digital solutions and services involving mobile technologies, customer experience, analytics, content management, cloud technologies and other services. In addition, you will work with a global team of digital practitioners on innovative technologies and help bring those solutions to market with our customers. 
 

Your key responsibilities

 

As a senior manager, we'll help you achieve your potential by supporting your professional development and giving you the experience of working with a diverse range of clients. You’ll have the opportunity to build your skills in digital, while also working in multidisciplinary teams, often directly with leaders of major organizations, bringing diverse perspectives to every challenge. You are expected to be able to act as a team lead, demonstrating your understanding of Emerging Technologies, Digital, or Cloud Technologies. You will be a critical member of the team working with our program leads and key SMA to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive solution will be delivered on-time and on-budget to the utmost satisfaction of our clients. You’ll also be able to provide all necessary guidance to team members, support to leadership, and be able to communicate and update team. In addition, you will be responsible for the following:

 

Establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships Help partners and directors generate new business opportunities and build client networks and relationships Identify innovative insights for clients, adapt methods and practices to fit operational team and cultural needs, and contribute to thought leadership Contribute to improving operational efficiency on projects and internal initiatives Help manage the financial aspects of engagements by organizing staffing, tracking fees and communicating issues to project leaders Lead presentations and proposals for moderately complex projects — or elements of highly complex projects — and provide subject-matter insight to bids and proposals Communicate effectively with EY engagement partners and managers and work to build, manage and motivate high-performing teams Anticipate and identify risks; escalate any issues as appropriate Develop people through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring staff; help create a positive learning culture Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for staff Contribute to people-related initiatives, including recruiting, retaining and training professionals Maintain an educational program to continually develop personal skills of staff Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures

 

In addition to your client responsibilities, you will also be expected to fulfil senior manager-level responsibilities within the firm. EY senior manager support people-related initiatives, including recruiting events and interview nights. Senior managers are also expected to support and participate in internal, firm activities, including training programs and courses in order to stay current on training requirements and continuously improve technical skills. Lastly, you will be expected to understand and follow all workplace policies and procedures, including all applicable Independence policies.
 

Skills and attributes for success

 

You will ideally have previous exposure to technology consulting, and a keen interest in advising the US government and Public sector. You should have strong communication skills, and business and technology acumen, and have a passion for delivering value to our clients. 
 

To qualify for the role you must have

 

A bachelor’s degree 7+ years of experience in one of the following areas: Emerging Technology – Including but not limited to Blockchain, Robotics Process Automation, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning, etc. Digital / User Experience – Digital Strategy, Digital Marketing, IT Transformations, UX Design, SharePoint, Digital Product & Project Management, Prototyping, User Experience Design, etc. Cloud Technology – Journey-to-Cloud, Cloud Strategy, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Information Architecture, etc. Experience executing project plans on large, complex engagements from analysis through implementation, preferably as a work stream lead supervising staff Experience as a technical lead and experience fostering strong relationships with clients Demonstrated experience in business development Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance or higher, which will be driven by the engagement requirement

 

Due to the nature of our work in the Government and Public Sector, work may be required to be completed at client, EY and/or contractor sites. Our goal is to assign professionals to projects within a commutable distance of their work location office.  In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs. Candidates should be willing to travel 20 – 30% or more.

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

Experience working in a Big Four global management consulting firm or technology company focused on the government and public sector Experience in user centered design practices and principles, including research & testing, information architecture, prototyping, taxonomy and other areas Experience in agile scrum methodology and management tools (e.g., JIRA, VersionOne) Experience executing project plans on large, complex engagements from analysis through implementation Expertise in developing written and visual communication products Excellent written and oral communication skills Knowledge of Adobe creative suite as well as prototyping software Knowledge of major digital trends and platforms Knowledge of modern web and mobile architecture Ability to collaborate with clients and identify engagement follow-on opportunities

  What we offer   We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $148,900 to $340,200. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $178,700 to $386,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
