SUMMARY:
The Government Contract Specialist will serve on the Contract Administration team in the Evernorth Federal Services (EFS) subsidiary of The Cigna Group. This role will focus on contract administration for various federal contracts.
The qualified candidate will be asked to deliver specific tasks as assigned. Many of the tasks are considered routine in nature requiring little to no supervision. This employee will have access to advice from more experienced team members and peer reviews (as needed). Tasks involve a degree of forward planning, organization, and anticipation of needs/issues. This role will also work closely with cross-functional partners including the Law Department, Audit, Finance, and Account Teams regarding the requirements of the contracts. This position will continuously seek to implement process improvements, mitigate contractual and financial risks while creating efficiencies and working directly with the clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform administrative actions, including maintaining all letter correspondence with clients (incoming and outgoing), distribution lists for communications with the clients, drafting of letters, audit responses, Service Contract Act (SCA) administration, conforming various contract in Adobe, preparing FOIA versions of contracts, setting-up new charge codes for time tracking, records management liaison, and managing all subcontractor paperwork and spend.
Interact with subcontractors and procurement cross-functional teammates to ensure compliance with any small disadvantage business requirements in our federal contracts.
Complete ad hoc contract reads as requested by cross-functional teams.
Draft internal communications, present to clients, and work on special projects.
IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE A COMBINATION OF THE FOLLOWING:
Experience working in procurement and/or government contracts with an understanding of FAR/DFAR
Adobe Editor experience
Bachelor’s degree
Proven track record of being a high performer with strong initiative and desire to excel
Detailed oriented with strong analytical skills
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently on a multitude of projects with minimal supervision
Ability to work cross functionally with an attitude of collaboration and alignment
Ability to work a hybrid work schedule including three days a week onsite at the St. Louis, Missouri headquarters building
There is minimal to no travel required for this role
This is not a people leading role and does not have the potential to become one
