Government & Public Affairs Intern
Atlantic Health System
Summer intern position to assist in the Dept. of Government and Public Affairs. Intern will work directly with the Vice President and Manager of the Government Affairs Department on special public policy and legislative outreach projects. Assignments to include legislative bill research and review, budget analysis, advocacy projects, as well as other duties as needed. Intern will also attend legislative sessions and hearings in the New Jersey Statehouse.
Legislative Research
• Track state and federal legislation and regulations
• Develop memorandums summarizing bills and regulations
• Monitor healthcare policy news
• State Budget Analysis
Outreach
• Work with Manager on outreach letters to local and state officials
Events/Meetings
• Attend legislative voting sessions and hearings in the NJ Statehouse
• Participate in external meetings with various stakeholders
• Assist with legislative events at Atlantic Health facilities
• Applicants must be currently enrolled in a full-time accredited public or private College/University
•Be in good academic standing
• US Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Work 37.5 hours per week and commit to a minimum of 375 hours for the duration of the internship
• Must be committed to completing the duration of the internship from June 2025 - August 2025
• Highly proficient writing and research skills
• Proficient in MS Office
• General knowledge of legislative process
•Educational background in Political Science, Government/Public Policy, or Public Health preferred
