To strengthen our presence in Berlin we are looking for a
Government Relations Lead Germany (f/m/d) – located in Berlin (remote)
Duties and Responsibilities
+ Network Building: Establish and maintain a network within CAE and set up a capital presence in Berlin.
+ Advocacy: Build and maintain relationships with political decision-makers, government representatives, ministries, the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw), and relevant authorities at both state and federal levels. Advocacy with other relevant authorities, such as the EU, EC, EASA, NATO, and other member countries will also be required.
+ Analysis and Monitoring: Monitor and analyze political developments in Europe and NATO, processes, legislative procedures, and regulatory changes in the defense and aerospace sectors that affect the company's interests.
+ Strategy Development: Develop and implement lobbying strategies to effectively represent the company’s interests and achieve policy and business goals, including tax incentives and R&D partnerships
+ Develop Partnerships with Governments: Participate in political events, conferences, networking events, and trade fairs to expand the professional network and strengthen the company’s presence as a trusted partner in the defence and aerospace ecosystem.
+ Consulting: Support internal departments by providing information and analyses on political and geopolitical developments and their impact on the business.
+ Reporting: Regularly report to management on political trends, activities, and progress in lobbying efforts.
Qualifications and Requirements
+ Education: Completed studies in Political Science, Law, Economics, or a related field. Experience with government, policy development or multi-lateral organizations is desirable.
+ Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience in lobbying, ideally in the defense and armaments sector.
+ Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the German political landscape and the defense industry, particularly regarding the BAAINBw and relevant regulatory frameworks. Knowledge and awareness of the broader European, NATO, and the global geopolitical context will be considered major assets.
+ Network: Existing contacts with political decision-makers, government authorities, and the Bundeswehr are advantageous. A pan-European network will be considered an asset.
+ Skills: Excellent communication skills, negotiation skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to analyze and convey complex political relationships. Position requires an ability to work collaboratively in an international team environment.
+ Languages: Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
