Job Description:
This position participates in, develops, and implements government relations activities for the National Security and Defense industry supporting governmental projects and initiatives. This requires providing support to the organization in legislative and regulatory matters with national, regional, and local governments and quasi-government agencies.
Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Research of National Security and Defense projects and initiatives
• Study proposed legislation in National Security/Defense policy area, evaluate the impact on the company, and develop summaries and impact statements
• Contribute to the assessment of governmental or company policy direction
• Participate in coalitions; act as a liaison to various groups/projects, etc.; document key initiatives
• Develop and maintain relationships with key legislators, staff, committees, campaign associates, and regulators to effectively channel and lobby for the goals and interests of the company.
• Organize, track and administer relevant governmental activities for the company
• Organize meetings for interest groups with the same goals
• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
• Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines
• Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff
• Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards
• Adhere to and support Fluor’s Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
• Effectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the job
• May need to travel to attend to business related matters
• Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
• Other duties as assigned
