GPR Technician (Utility Locating & Structural) (copy)

Our utility locating and ground penetrating radar (GPR) technicians are responsible for locating and marking all utility lines and features, as well as any other obstructions and anomalies within a designated work area of a site. The purpose for utility location may include, but is not limited to, surveying and planning, new construction, utility clearance for coring/drilling, and excavations into the subsurface. Our technicians are responsible for ensuring accurate, reliable, and repeatable results throughout their projects. They are responsible for ensuring the safety of themselves and others, and protection of the equipment while on their work site.
*Pay Rate starts at $30.00/hr. Job Responsibilities: Operate and maintain equipment, including calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.Operate line tracer/locator, magnetic detection, GPR, and structural concrete scanning equipment.Produce legible and readily understandable utility mark-out on the ground surface with marking paint in accordance with APWA Uniform Color Code.Record and document findings accurately and communicate findings to supervisors and project managers.Ensure that all actions and procedures are conducted in a safe and efficient manner, following all safety protocols and regulations.Collaborate with other members of the project team, including engineers, contractors, and architects, to ensure that materials meet project specifications.Prepare reports summarizing test results and communicate findings to project stakeholders.Provide excellent customer service to clients, responding to questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Additional duties as assigned by supervisor. Required Qualifications:1-2 years of experience using line tracer/locator, GPR, and/or other utility locating instruments.Willingness to learn and obtain new certifications.Valid Driver's License.Ability to properly operate and maintain a company vehicle to company and industry standards.Strong communication skills.Detail-oriented.Able to work independently.Travel required including overnight and out of town.Preferred Qualifications: Project management/supervisor experience.Experience in construction, installation, utility work, or other similar industry.About UES
