Graduate Admissions Operations Specialist
Location: Binghamton, NY Category: Professional Posted On: Mon Nov 4 2024 Job Description: Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3) Salary: $55,151 - $58,000 The Graduate Admissions Operations Specialist plays a vital role in the Office of Graduate Recruitment and Admissions (OGRA). This professional position is responsible for leading and overseeing all graduate admissions operations and application processing, as well as managing key functions in the admissions CRM (Slate) and other admissions-related systems and technology. Reporting to the Director of Graduate Recruitment and Admissions, the ideal candidate will possess experience with technology systems, preferably within the higher education sector, and will demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service. We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated team player with exceptional attention to detail. This professional position will include regular engagement with prospective and admitted students, faculty, and staff to facilitate the processing and completion of graduate applications. Additionally, this role will support the University in developing admissions policies, procedures, communications, reporting, and supervising both students and staff. Job Responsibilities include: + Conduct policy research and review to support all graduate admissions operations, staying informed on best practices. Collaborate with the OGRA team to identify areas for improvement in existing policies and procedures. + Engage with campus partners to clarify admissions policies, procedures, best practices, and operational processes. + Deliver exceptional customer service, oftentimes serving as the first point of contact, working closely with the Graduate Admissions Operations Assistant to provide knowledgeable, resourceful, and empathetic assistance to all stakeholders. + Develop resources and provide training support to end users on the use of the CRM (Slate). + Manage the graduate application quality review process to ensure timely processing. + Collaborate with Information Technology Services (ITS) other admissions staff to address any issues related to admissions records within university systems, including identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving problems. + Build and maintain queries in the CRM (Slate) to monitor daily operations and workflow, ensuring the integrity of admissions records and using results to address maintenance issues. + Elevate sensitive or special admissions cases to the Director as necessary and assist in their resolution. + Oversee the management and content of departmental web pages. + Provide supervision and support to professional staff and student workers. + Collaborate with various campus offices, including Student Accounts, Financial Aid and Student Records, Information Technology Services, Office of Online Programs, and Communications and Marketing. Job Requirements: + Master's degree + Strong organizational skills and problem-solving abilities + Excellent customer service, interpersonal, presentation, oral and written communication skills + Proven ability to be culturally adaptable and work well in diverse environments and with diverse clientele + Familiarity with graduate school application processes + Ability to work well under pressure and balance multiple competing priorities, working both independently and with a team Preferred: + Professional experience in higher education graduate student recruitment, admissions or another related field + Supervisory experience + Experience with Slate or similar CRM tool Visa sponsorship is not available for this position Additional Information: Offers of employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check and verification of degree(s) and credentials.
