*The compensation for Athletic Graduate Assistants consists of a $3,000 annual stipend, a tuition waiver for up to 18 credits per year, campus housing, and a meal plan. 4 Year Degree Under the general direction of the Director of Athletics and the Men’s and Women’s Golf Head Coach, the Graduate Assistant for Men’s and Women’s Golf will assist the head coach in recruiting student-athletes to the program, instruct and develop the student-athlete in the sport of golf. Other duties will include assignments in one or more areas in athletics: fundraising, game management, alumni relations, fitness center supervision, intramurals, event planning, sports information and social media. Instruction should include, but not limited to the rules, strategies, and techniques relating to practice and competition in this sport. The Graduate Assistant will also support the mission and goals of the Athletic Department.This position is scheduled to begin August 2025. Typically, a full-time GA is required to work 20 hours per week from mid-August to mid-May. Accepted into a Master’s Degree Program at Hood College is required.
Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Coaching (50%)
Work with head coach and admissions on recruiting; Assist with the planning and development of the golf program; Train and coach during practice sessions; Assist with team academic monitoring; Assist in team fundraising.
Athletic Assistance (50%)
Game Management; Assist the intramural coordinator with season intramurals; Assist with event planning (athletic banquet, fundraisers, golf tournament); Work with alumni relations on creating and updating our student-athlete database of alumni; Work with our sports information director on social media; newsletters and interviews; Assist with our corporate sponsorship outreach.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Full acceptance into one of the Hood College’s graduate programs required. Knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations preferred.
