Carnegie Mellon University’s Office of Community Responsibility (OCR) is seeking a Graduate Assistant to join their team. OCR encourages students to uphold high ethical standards and align their behavior with the values of the CMU community. Through a restorative approach, the office promotes learning and accountability via reflective, community-centered processes.
Reporting to the Director of the Office of Community Responsibility, this is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic and thoughtful work environment. In this role, you will support the office by managing key administrative and programmatic components of the university’s community standards and academic integrity processes. You will also play an active role in educating students on community expectations and ensuring that the university’s responses to policy violations are developmentally appropriate and purposeful.
Core responsibilities include:
Managing follow-up for community standards complaints and academic integrity violations reported to the Office of Community Responsibility;
Coordinating workflow for academic and non-academic violations including documentation, tracking, and reporting;
Facilitate educational programs for the campus community;
Participate in departmental meetings as needed;
Oversee and review applicable policies and procedures; and
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Enrolled in a Higher Education, Student Affairs, College Student Personnel or related graduate program for the 2025-2026 academic year
A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

Sponsorship: Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work for CMU in the United States. CMU will not sponsor or take over the sponsorship of an employment visa for this opportunity. Carnegie Mellon is not a qualifying employer for the STEM OPT benefit: only the 12-month OPT may be used to work at Carnegie Mellon.
Work Posture: This position is operating fully in person
This is a part-time (20 of hours), non-exempt position based in Pittsburgh, PA
Typical Work Schedule: Between Monday-Friday from 8:30-5:00pm. An alternate work schedule allowing for evening and weekend hours may be required on occasion.
Fixed Term: This is a fixed-term position from mid-August 2025 through mid-May 2026
