Graduate Automation Engineer
What’s the role?

Here at NewsCorp Australia, we have an awesome opportunity to join our ever-transforming QA and Environment Management practice.

Reporting to the Head of Automation, you will be part of a centralized team of Automation Engineers responsible for developing and delivering a world-class test automation in Technology. We want to deliver at pace, shift quality left and reduce manual testing eff ort, through high-value test automation.

What’s the role?

Embedding test automation across all technology teams within TDD, creating automated scripts, targeting new feature test automation as part of the automation first principleCollaborating with Technology teams to implement test automation for targeted high-value areasWorking with both Sydney and India-based teams

Your day to day responsibilities

Embedded within the Automation Practice team, attending all of the relevant ceremonies, ensuring that automation becomes part of the definition of DoneCreating and maintaining automation scripts as part of new feature developmentExecuting scripts, and assisting with embedding them within CI/CD pipelineBuilding out automated environment smoke tests or regression tests as requiredWorking closely with developers to ensure that the automated tests target the right functionality and depth

Who are you?A passionate automation engineer, who understands a good script from a bad one as well as an appreciation for the strategic direction of test automation for maintainability and expansionComfortable writing automated scripts for web and or mobile solutions from inception, as well as good knowledge across automated toolsA forward-thinking quality advocate, who is not afraid to question the status quoA champion for continuous improvementExtreme problem solver and key collaboratorAn amazing Infl uencer and relationship builder, who enjoys technical talk with developers, test engineers and architectsExperience or understanding of CI/CD pipeline, appreciating the benefit of early software feedbackYou appreciate Agility and seek opportunities to implement agile practices across the SDLCYou enjoy researching best-in-class QA automation practicesHappy to go beyond your role title to get the right outcome
